Recommended Posts

Dear Members

Just wondering if anyone has had a recent stay at the Koenig or has any other relevant information about the Hotel its location, policies etc etc.

I have already checked the reviews and the Koenig's website.

Many Thanks

Dan

bigdan,

I posted the first review and the only thing that I can add is that they now have a small pool.  The place is quest friendly and is located on Soi Yensabai, less than a 10 minute walk to FLB.  I prefer the Marine Yensabai to the Koenig as its closer to FLB and the upper floors have a nice view and the room have balconies, but no pool.

Bigdan,

I have booked in there for 3 weeks from 29th October. It was recommended by a friend who stayed there earlier this year and will also be back there at the same time as me. I always think return custom is a good recommendation particularly where there is such a wide choice as there is in Pattaya?

When are you planning to be in Pattaya?

Saigon,

Doggie and I have a limo booked for 3:00pm from terminal 2 Bangkok Airport to Pattaya on 29th. Plenty of seats available if you are interested and you would be more than welcome to join us.

I stayed at the Koenig in May/June of this year. It is attractively priced for a new hotel and I didn't find the location a problem. It is about 10 mins from Walking Street and there is a motorbike taxi hut right across from the hotel if you need to travel across town. There is a gay bar area nearby but I didn't get my arse felt when walkng through! Better luck next time eh!

The rooms are of a good size with excellent airconditioning. You set the temperature and it has proper thermostat control. I took a corenr room for 800Bht which had a good fridge, king size bed and setee. The hot water and plumbing work well. The owner, Markus, is a good guy who will help out with any problems and all the staff are friendly. No joiners fee regardless of the quantity of visitors - just don't try to pull any of the bar staff when you have established a reputation as a butterfly.

There are 2 bars but only one was open when I was there. Markus is German so the beer is always cold and the food is good.

The only small complaints I had were that the safety deposit boxes are at reception and there is not a lot of sound insulation between the rooms.

I am going back there in October so I must have liked it.

Saigon,

I get in late on 28th and am staying at Asia Airport Hotel then heading back to airport to meet up with doggie who gets in at 2:55pm on 29th.

Leave it up to you but we could have a drink and some lunch at the hotel (not far from airport) if you want.

Being Thailand, anything may happen though. Last trip I had planned taking Thai limo only to find upon arrival they had no cars available. Finished up with another hire car which was pretty good but a bit more expensive. Thats why I decided to book and pay in advance this time the Pattayalivecam limo service.
