Sukhumvit/pool/decent room?

Recommended Posts

What recommendations do you have for a decent room at a hotel in Sukhumvit that's priced less than 1800 baht? I need to be near the BTS.

I know about Nana....anything else?

Thanks in advance for any help...

Soi 7,

What are you drinking. ??? That's a period after 19 not a comma.  What's Mark doing staying in Bangkok, does he want to shop at one of those large Gem stores without you harrassing him.   ;D

Emil,

I needed to make a pit stop in BKK for a short period on this trip and you are right...I'm tired of going to gold shops with Soi7's girls to get his gifts for him. One time Soi 7 gave me 20,000 baht and asked me to pick up his friend at Jenny Star bar and to go shopping for something nice. That's where I draw the line!   ;D ;D

Thanks for the good recommendations!

2 days and wheels up!

You should try the Majestic Suites , just around the corner from Nana Plaza . See my review in hotels section . Here is their website http://www.majesticsuites.com/main.html

Print the thai address off the website & give it to the taxi driver .

If you book through this website you get a good discount -

http://www.asiahotels.com/

You would need to book as they are full most weekends - a good sign .

Derek,

I once thought about the Majestic Suites but they have no pool and the rooms are TINY. You will notice that there are absolutley NO pics of there rooms on any website.

I don't doubt the rooms are clean and modern, i'm just scared that if I come home and walk in the door, trip over the bed and my head falls thru the window onto Sukhumvit! The rooms just sound too small for me.

Thanks for the imput though.

The Grand President Hotel on Soi 11.  I couldn't find the hotel's own website, only reservation sites so I didn't link it.

Has a pool (never been in it), and a wide variety of nice rooms  (I've done the Topaz a few times).  Its about 200 to 250 yards up Soi 11 off Sukhumvit.  I think the Nana BTS station is right there as well.
