They don't show a website on thier business card but if you need their email its sunshineptty@yahoo.com.  Unless you don't mind a bathroom that only has a shower that pretty much gets the whole bathroom wet get a room in the new wing.

Just got back a few days ago from Pattaya and spent 2 weeks at the Sunshine.  They had a deal where if you spent 10 days there, they gave you 3 days free.  Worked out to about 800 baht a night for a seaview room in the new wing, 12th floor (a little expensive, but OK).  I agree, the showers aren't the best there, especially the water pressure they provide.

Not sure how long the offer is good for.  The Sunshine had a big banner in front of the hotel that said something like - stay 3 nights get 1 free, stay 6 nights get 2 nights free, stay 10 and get 3 nights free.  I stayed at another hotel before going to the Sunshine, so did a walk up and was happy with it.  You should be able to negotiate something for a longer period of time.  The hotels section of FLB site has a little different pricing for the Sunshine, seems to include breakfast for stays at the new wing.  Sorry I can't remember any more information.  Have a good trip.

I don't want to double post and violate any forum rules, but if you read the trip report (#2) I posted yesterday, I provide much Sunshine info.

Their web address is www.sunshinepattaya.com

I just returned and thought it to be the best value in Pattaya. With the special promotion going, I averaged 825 baht per night. It lasts through August, if I recall correctly.

And, the water pressure in my room located in the tower was great. Must have been a shower-head issue! GS

V--

The pricing at the Thai hotels is just the type of thing that will drop you off in The Twililght Zone (my trip report for further).

The Sunshine does have the special promo going that we spoke about. They also have their regular rates. And, they have a third rate, a non-participate-in-program rate.

You pay less than regular rates if you want to spend a night or two AND/OR stay and not participate in their special, buy X-get X- free, program. Still with me?

(Remember, Twilight Zone)

If you want that program, they will charge you a bit more for the room, BUT when you figure in the free nights, your average per day rate will be lower than both the single non-participate and the regular rate.

Just get a reservation confirming your stay in a regular, TOWER room on at least the 9 th, 10th, 11th or 12 floor, preferably one closer to the end of the hallway, towards Soi 8. That's it. In fact, just copy and paste the following and include the same in your email.

"I'd like to reserve a regular TOWER room on at least the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th floor, preferably one closer to the end of the hallway, towards Soi 8"

Once they confirm that you are in the Tower on a high floor, you know you have gotten what you want ... the old building doesn't go up that high and your view looks over all the other buildings in the horizon, particularly the sunset view. The further down towards Soi 8 the better, but all still great. Again, I averaged a rate of 825 Baht a night, after figuring in the free nights.

Here is a pic of the view from the tower balcony of the Sunshine.

This is the SW view.

This and two others are in my trip report, #2.

(I wanted to get at least one in this thread in case someone ever did a search, they would have better and more complete info on the hotel property.

If this violates any rule Pete, just trash it.) GS

Hi Vanilla,

I just got back from pty, stayed at the flipper house on soi 7 they had a good deal on, it is stay for 7 nights only pay for 5, this worked out at 535baht a night, if your staying 14 nights its the same but if your staying for more than 7 but less than 14 then the extra nights are charged at 650baht per night, or you could try either the high five around the corner on soi 8  (ask for room 703, 704 bigger rooms with balcony's)+ (aircon on all the time) or the carlton pattaya on second road both were charging 500baht per night last week.

SoCal,

The air con remaining on when you leave the room is another feature that is available at Mike's Beach Resort that we discussed last week.

SoCal,

The HighFive is on the corner of soi 8 and second road opposite the first stop beer bar, everything is freely available in the immediate area as for the hotel I have stayed there 3 times and have never had any problems but you do get what you pay for, by this I mean that the hotel (except for the lobby area ) is a little run down,  the pool (on the roof) has needed a clean on occasion and some times the towels were old and smelly, just get them changed, the rooms I reccomend are on the 7th floor and overlooking soi 8 but don't get 704 unless the new building across the other side of second road is finished as it was noisy. The staff were all good ie: friendly and amenable, hope this helps you.
