PM facility compromised, anyone else?

Last night I sent a PM to a fellow Board member. When I looked at the reply I sent him this morning, I noticed that my original message had a photo added to it, of a womans hand with a diamond ring on the finger.

I removed it and PM'd my friend, telling him about it.

My reply showed up with n image of a guy dancing with a woman. She didn't show her face, but her posture and hairstyle suggested it could have been the lady I was writing about with my friend BM.

 

I PM'd MM, the board owner. He suggested I do a test, send him a few PM, with and without pic attachments.

I did so, and within a minute or so, one had collected an unwanted new image, the same men dancing previously, now sucking cock.

 

Maybe someone doesn't lie me, but i am not comfortable with the idea that someone can hack into my PM on this board.

 

Is there anyone here who had same thing happening to them?

 

MM suggested my password maybe compromised and suggested I change it .

No, not ever as far as I can remember. I usually access the net on my iPad, accessible to me only. i also live currently in a fairly poor backward country, where not many people are computer savvy.

 

It could be a matter of my password having been hacked somehow. The only uncomfortable alternative is a person who hacked into the board, hence my question of you.

 

The second photo was marked with a file name "wiseone," followed by a few numbers.

I thought I recognised it, maybe a BM?

I tracked it down to the name of a former board member of Addicts, who joined in 2007, but was banned some time after.

That may mean nothing, it maybe a picture he took, used by someone else.

 

Most likely a prank, by some geeky spotty teenager, who enjoys hacking. But it leaves me unsettled. I like my privacy.

Addicts have been completely down for 24 Hours. They are blaming a former board member who has attacked the forum. Apart from taking the server out of commission there are posts and photographs that are missing and some put back in. This can’t be a coincidence and would take some high level skills to achieve it.

If addicts is down it is possible their password database was compromised. If you are using the same password and user name that could explain it. It might not be a person doing this but a bunch of bots hence the real time changes.

I have talked to someone with inside knowledge of the administration of this software. I suggest that someone has hacked the admin software and logged on as an administrator and caused some trouble. Pattaya Talk uses the same software and the only way I can imagine that your PM’s can be compromised is through the same admin software.

I find it hard to believe that the problems described would be isolated to one individual (thus far) if the admin password were compromised.

It's much more likely the user's password was compromised.

I changed that password immediately after I received your suggestion to do so. I have no idea how my password could have become compromised in the first place. It was a pretty robust mixture of letters, numbers and sign. I never lent my IPad or laptop to anyone, and never use another or public computer to access the board.

 

The first two occasions, I deleted the images immediately, almost a knee reaction I am afraid. The third and last time, I dd a screendump and then deleted it, prior to deleting the image. I sent MM a copy if the last pic.

 

I don't know about cache. I use iPad and Apple Mac laptop, no idea how to find a deleted picture on my iPad.

The last picture, which I did save, came from a site called Gay Blowjob Auditions.

 

I am not homophobic, but do not see any point in actually seaching that site.

 

I think if the hacker is smart enough to hack, he would be smart enough not to use images that could be traced to him, and see no purpose pusuing the image itself any further.

 

My original question was if this happened to anyone else. Since no oe else reported this, I can only assume it was a single occasion and probably limited to my password being ompromised, as MM suggested.

I've also checked the logs and my home IP and FLB are the only locations where an admin has logged in.
