Tilak and I are due to celebrate 3 yrs together soon, and I was planning on buying her a charm bracelet to mark such an unusual landmark, with the promise of new charm each year thereafter, dependent on continued good behaviour. (of course)

All her current bling is silver. A silver bracelet, with 1 charm would seem a good option to match up with her current look as a starter. I was thinking of paying around B5000 for a chain, and whatever for the subsequent charms.

However, when I look around here in blighty silver prices seem impossible to call. Generally, they are cheap as chips. From as little as £5.00 for a completed 6 charm bracelet, to £100 for the bangle only. Clearly, I don't know my silver as this pricing make no sense to me.

I could cheap it, but don't really want to. I'm looking for B5000 worth of quality. I see ads for solid sterling silver at cheap prices but the very name suggests a compromise.

I did buy her a thick chunky flat silver bracelet in Walking Street when we first hooked up. It was wide enough to have her family name inscribed on it and came in at B2500 if she was telling me the truth. It is something of this ilk that I'm after,

I like the charm bracelet route as it takes away the pondering of what gift I'll take next trip. It's a charm every time.

I did this with the ex, but in Thai gold. Cheap then, dearer now so she did well out of that. I did notice then however, that not so many shops stocked silver charms as gold. I don't want to buy a chain that I can't then easily get charms for.

So in summary:

Looking for a vendor where I can buy a quality silver charm bracelet with an ample supply of silver charms available for the foreseeable future.

I know silver isn't generally as appreciated as gold would be, but I also know that said bling won't be targeted for snatching from her wrist as quickly as the 24K yellow stuff would surely be.

Any pointers guys?

Silver 'bullion' price is only about £12/Oz..... that is about 31grams, 2 baht weight.

(Compare to gold at over 60x that).

Sterling silver is 92.5% Silver..... so it should not be all that expensive.

But 20% VAT added in the UK and jewellery can have a phenomenal mark-up.

Do you have to buy in the UK or will can you buy elsewhere... ?

Yes there are some junky items out there but take a look on Ebay under the 'antique' or 'used'... some interesting items there.

Ideally I'd like to buy in either Bkk or Pattaya, but if I can't get a decent silver bracelet and a ready supply of charms to add on in the future i'll be stuffed. A bit late for a change of tack then. I could get her a watch, but takes away the carrot of the annual charm for good behaviour.

Not sure whether you're buying in UK or else where, but whatever, why not try "PANDORA" ? Stores are in most cities

in the uk and worldwide.

http://www.pandora.net/en-gb There is an infinite selection of charms and baubles and (for info)there is a store at Central Festival area of Pattaya, also one in Royal Garden Plaza. The brand is International. The bracelets are very strong and secure.

Build it up through the years.Charms start at around £30 sterling right up to the sky is almost the limit. I'm sure she will love the idea.
