Apartments/cheaper hotel for extended stay

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what the going rate for an apartment is or for a cheaper (but still clean) hotel?  I've recently been freed from my work commitments (thanks to company downsizing) so I'm looking to come and spend 3 weeks to a month in Thailand before I start to look for a new job.  Anyone have any ideas?  I don't want to spend a large amount of money on a hotel if I can help it.

 Thanks

Yes,

i reasonable apartment in Pattaya can usually be had for about 12,000 Baht per month plus water and electricity ( 3000Baht? ) A scruffy out of the way place would be a lot cheaper and a large luxury or 2 bed apartment a lot more expensive.

If you go to BJ restaurant on beach road north and speak to Lek who is BJs wife. She rents condos out at Markland at about 600bt - 800bt per night depending on demand. Not sure how many she manages or prices over xmas and newyear. A friend had one on the 19teenth floor and the view is great so i will be staying there next trip. Room had air con, i think electric included in price and maid service every 2 days.

I found a link for the Nong Apartments on the pattayatrader.com web page under the advertising section.  The prices seem reasonable (ground floor apartment @ 900 baht/nigh & 1200 baht/2 weeks).  Any boardies with Nong Apartment experiences?

I saw rates published for Sawasdee Hotel for 9,000 and 11,000 baht per month.  Located on Soi Buskaow between Soi Diana and Soi Honey.  Also on Soi Yensabai, the White Rose Mansion had monthly rates less than 600 baht per night and Yensabai condos are around 500 a night.
