Huu Tiep Lake,The iconic B52 lake, where the wreckage of a B52 now lay.

There is not really too much to see here, but according to my guide/moto driver/stalker/know-it-all, back in the 70's, this lake was a damn sight lot bigger than it is now, and the main body of this '52, is actually under some of the houses to the right of the wreckage. If true or not, who knows, but i had no reason not to believe him.

This lake was one of the places that was on my list of places to visit, and in a way, im glad i made it here to see this.

Great pics Firth. To be honest local knowledge and insight is often invaluable, especially when in cases like this, many are still young enough to remember what happened. I'd wager you are right about the wreckage. I'm no expert but a B 52 is a huge beast and for one would have no problem in accepting the notion that a majority is still beneath nearby dwellings.

 

Perhaps some of our American friends can offer their opinions on the comparative scale offered here, can anyone offer some kind of comparison for a B52 to a 747 perhaps?. Given the area of wreckage, would it be fair to surmise where the rest of it went.
