Chiang Mai/Koh Chang ?

Hi eveyone.  I'll be visting LOS from Sept. 18 through Oct 12.  Looking for recomendations on Hotels in Chiang Mai and Kon Chang.

Will be in Pattaya the first part of my trip and would also like to know if anyone wants to play golf in the mornings.

I stayed at the Klong Prao Resort on Koh Chang. I was qout of the way and quite if that is what you want. Hope you plan to take your own TG with you. It has been a year since I was there but I doubt if there have been many changes.

In Chiang Mai i stayed at the Princess across from the night market. There are lots of good hotels in Chiang Mai. Do a web search.

In Chang Mai try the Royal Lanna, the phone is (66-53) 818-713 & fax is (66-53) 818-776 nice hotel for around 1000-1200B

A great hotel in Chaingmai is the Burawong.  it costs about 500 bath per nite.  Very clean, friendly, secure and price  includes breakfast.

The 23 October Asiabugle.com has a good article on holidaying on Koh Chang. The piece makes the point that it's best to bring your girlfriend and be informed about Koh Chang hotels, bars, beaches before your trip. The Internet has plenty of Koh Chang hotel home pages, maps, etc. Pattaya travel agencies have minibuses going to Koh Chang daily. IMHO the comments in these threads are too limited to give youa clear picture of the island. It's a nice place.  But unlike Pattaya where the action is everywhere, you have to hunt for it in Koh Chang.  Supposedly the developers have it in their sights, in 10 years it may be another Phuket. See it now. Then in a couple years you can join the rest of us, crying in our beers and moaning "it ain't like it used to be."
