I've had a couple of hotel stays c/o an airline. My flight was cancelled from Manila to Amsterdam because of a typhoon.  As a KLM Royal wing FF member I was knocking back KLM gin in the Business Class Lounge and despite the economy ticket I was booked into the 5* Nikko Dusit with others in the lounge. We all got meal vouchers but no free booze. I was re routed with Cathay Pacific the next day via Hong Kong. After I lobbed the toys out of the pram a couple of times the flights were Business Class.

My other was during the SARs problem. Singapore Airlines cut flights and left me with a 6 hour layover in Singapore. I tried for compensation and got zero. I then went for a Lounge ticket - not possible sir. What can I have?  Hotel sir. None available at the Airport so I got a 4* in town with the taxi fares thrown in. It must have been far more expensive than the Lounge ticket but who cares. It pays to ask.

I doubt you will get anything other than the room for free.

Hi

The Alia Gateway is near the airport, it's half an hour drive from Amman. It's OK, but nothing like the 5 stars hotels in Thailand or even in Central Amman.

I guess you will arrive early in the morning and fly to midday, so there is not much you can do, otherwise you could take a taxi to central Amman as there are many places to see.

If you need more information about Amman or RJ do not hesitate to write back.

Sunny, I think a 7 hour period is enough for you to go to central Amman and back to the airport.

You'll have no problem with Visa, you can have it at the Airport.

A taxi will cost around (Euros 20) from the airport to central Amman. You can arrange with the same taxi to come back and pick you up (probably Euros 15) couple of hours before the flight, so you can basically spend between 3-4 hours.

As where to go, there are many pubs in Amman, some of them are really nice, but nothing like thailand. They are european style pubs.

When you decide let me know and I'll give you names and details.

As for Zigga Zagga, I'm afraid the timing is not good. At 3.45 am I don't think you have any choices, even the Hotel Bar will be closed.

As for massage in the hotel, I don't know but again at 3.45 am everything would be closed.

You could arrange for a taxi to take you around early in the morning for a drive to Central Amman and back to the airport, but again your flight is at 12.15 in the afternoon, so you should bear in mind that the taxi needs half an hour to go back to the Airport.

I hope these details are clear, but if you need more information do let me know.
