If you are flying economy, Thai give you 34" to Eva's 32", however Eva offer Evergreen ( see other posts for details if interested )

Furthermore Thai fly daily, whilst Eva fly 3/4 (?) times a week. They also have an office in Pattaya which can be useful.

Against this my personal exerience is that the Thai cabin crew often seem less organised & slick than Eva's, which matters if you are unable to sleep for most of the trip.

I think Thai and EVA seat pitch is the same, 34".

I agree with the timetabling and the relative ease of having an office in Pattaya in case of the need to change your dates.

At the mo, EVA is £407 return with Thai coming in at £450 or so.

I would go for Thai if the price were the same and EVA Evergreen Deluxe if the price was right.

I also have the choice of Thai or EVA on my next trip which would be LAX-BKK-LAX.  I flew EVA in 1995 HNL-BKK-HNL and it was great compared to any U.S. domestic flights.  Business class seats for economy price, cute flight attendants, personal video screens, and acceptable food.

What is the current status of the planes of Thai and EVA flying from LAX to BKK?  I am primarily interested in seat width and not pitch.  Other options include China Air or Cathay, but I prefer Thai or EVA.  Delta and Uniflot are off my list.

I've flown both and I would only go with EVA.  When I call EVA and make a reservation, I can tell them I want to use my miles to upgrade.  Also they give me the Las Vegas to LAX to BKK ticket for the same price as LAX to BKK.  I have to mail them a money order or cashiers check and they mail me the tickets, I just recieved my tickets in the mail today, I am flying Evergreen Deluxe and getting 125% miles.  With the miles I have and the miles I get next month, I'll have enough miles on my following 2 trips to get the upgrades on all longhaul flights.

You can book on Eva.com and get bonus miles, Eva just redesigned their website.

I like Eva's arrival and departure times, I hate getting in at 11:00pm (2300) and leaving Bangkok at 7:00am.

cheers
