Heathrow to Bangkok £1080 Business class with Garuda

According to the Head for Points website ( which alongside the Flyertalk premium fares forum is a good source of information for discounted premium fares ) Garuda Indonesian is offering return business class fares from Heathrow to Bangkok via Jakarta for £1080.

 

The London to Jakarta legs are normally on the 777 which has a 1-2-1 seating layout in Business. The fare is apparently only bookable direct online with the airline.

Very cheap.. and a friend who flew Garuda once in Biz spoke positively of them.

I can't be bothered trying to repeat the fare but connection times in Jakarta would be important.

I believe that an overnight in Jakarta is necessary on the way there which personally I'd not have too much problem with.

The return journey has just a two hour stopover but departs at 6:30 am and takes over 20 hours as you spend the first three and a half hours basically flying in the wrong direction. So not sure about that one.

As a former aviation professional I still won't touch them with a barge pole, even though they have had numerous shake ups to their operating standards.
