Any members live in Baan Amphur area or frequent it? I have read some good things about the area. Are the beaches clean? I hear it is packed with Thais on holidays. Also a lot of good seafood restaurants in that area and yet it is still fairly close to Jomtien-Pattaya. Just scouting out areas. Again, thanks all in advance.

Don't over-plan it ....

Trips to Pattaya rarely go to plan and there are 'diversions'....

Yes Jacko, I have read that once or twice before here on the forum, lol lol. But I am planning on making the permanent move in a few months and baan amphur is high on my list from the research I have done so far. I would just like some " boots on the ground" info and feedback from anyone familiar with the area. Thanks for your valuable opinion.

Baan Ampuh has some good sea food restaurants on the beach but that's really about it. Just a sleepy quiet area for the most part. If i was going to live that far south i would live in Bang Sarae. Right between Pattaya and Ban Chang, better beach, and more options for a westener

True, not much happening there except for the restaurants. Recently had dinner at Preecha which I thought very, very good. Beach nothing to get excited about and Bang Saray better. Would consider living in the latter but don't drive in Thailand and that makes it impossible.

Yes Preecha is i think the best one on the little strip. For the haul down there, food and scenery you're probably better off going down to the absolute end of Jomtien Beach
