Just returned to the RG after 3 days in BKK at the Conrad...I will write up a full hotel review later, but for now, I can say it was a great experience. The room was beautiful, the staff courteous and helpful, and the amenities top notch. I would certainly give it my highest recommendation for those travelling with a companion...Peace.

I have also heard great things about the Conrad. May I ask if you companion was a Thai lady whom you may have enjoined from Pattaya's night life. Until the conrad so close to the U.S. Embassy and JUSMAG the J.W. Marriott ( my spot) was the place of choice and still get some U.s. Gov action as there are too many eyes at the Conrad. How is the guest policy...wide open as with the J.W.? :D

I stayed there for a week in May... no problems taking girls back, sometimes i checked them in sometimes not. Was no problem to take them in exec lounge for breakfast either. In fact it was funny coz a couple of times i saw some european ladies there with thai girls too... and i'm sure they weren't business partners LOL

nice hotel.... good position but pricey!

I would like to add my praise of the Conrad. I've stayed there several times and I'll be back in November and January. Absolutely first class hotel in every way! I've had no problems meeting TGs in the lobby and taking them up to the room. Never registered them and never took them to the Executive lounge. Its not cheap but its worth it.

This is very reassuring news about the Conrad. I stayed there at the end of my trip in February after 11 (?) days in Pattaya. I was a bit reluctant to try bringing a guest with me for any of those last few nights, but it now appears that -- provided one demonstrates appropriate decorum -- it shouldn't be a problem.

I must also second the comments on the Conrad in general. I have had the pleasure of staying at a fair number of world-class properties over the years, i.e.- Conde Nast Top 100 category. I can think of only one place so far -- the Coeur d'Alene resort in Idaho -- that came close to the level of service, quality, and attention to detail that I experienced at the Conrad. As I was preparing to check out, I made a point of filling out their guest comment card, and made sure to mention by name a couple of their staff. A few days later I received a personal reply from the GM, a letter that he had written, scanned as a jpeg, and forwarded to me by e-mail. Now THAT's my idea of customer care! They have a fan for life.

I'll be there again over Xmas and New Year if anyone is around maybe pick up a few  ?

  • 2 weeks later...

Paid 125.00USD the first tme for a deluxe room on the 16th floor. Paid 157.00USD the second for a deluxe executive room on the 27th floor. Same room, exactly, but the executive room has added amenities...Peace.

Just wondering if you paid the "++", tax and service charge on top of the rates you quoted?

Regards
