I am flumuxed here...( to start with highest ever asked for B/F has been 500baht ) however girls that want to be with me have never asked for more than 200baht ....this is beer bar...as the ladies know that I will spend at 2000/3000 in the bar beforehand and that I will give them a tip in the morning....normal long time for me 1700baht Im gone back to loom by 1 am ( got to pace myself even to get that far ) as I think I am one of the "older" guys here...sort of well over 50 So as to the OP we all rock a different boat...l do think looking for better ways to help your bar is commendable and hope the BM will give you feedback that you can ponder ....at the end of the day its "up to you"

Owen you always put a very good reply to Newbies asking this same question....you certainly made me look at my own situation As for living out in LOS for an extended period I have still come to a conclustion that 100,000 Baht per month plus some for emergincies , looks about the right amount...however "up to you" ...you could live much much cheaper. It really has to do with your own standards...do you want to mimick your life back in Farangland or create a new you..."up to you" I drive a Honda scooter in Patts nothing remotely what i drive in Farangland ...etc etc

I have been selling on and off with ebay for about 7 years now and found paypal to be a pain in the arse....I have always accepted personal checks and that is how 90% of people paid...never had a bouncer out of over $100,000 worth of transactions. Things have gotten a bit more difficult in the last few years with a lot more competition. Pesonally I would think twice before you jump into Ebay in Thailand unless you have a niche market with no competition and then only accept personel checks and you will send goods out when they clear. My own goods were antiques that were unique.

Owen....Been looking at a lot of your posts over the past few months and your perspective on moving out to Patts ..abeit retiring.... you put me off even though I have enough assets...again property in good locations and rented out...commercial ...so not too many hassles....so $60,000 income ...over 50... recon I could live a nice life ???? work at the moment and make consierably more than that ....move to Patts and income would drop to above

I am thinking of making the move in the next few years....really apprecieate the detailed info that you are giving...however there are other things that may cost....going on holiday...presents when you go out for dinner.Hobby costs ie. Golf ...Film...bowling...etc I recon on 100,000 B a month and a bit more..inflation at about 3% to 5% to be happy recon about 150,000 a month IMHO

I use Skype here in Ireland....works very sucessfuly....there is a new Netgear Skype phone out ...it lets you use a wifi spot , something like a mobile (cell) phone ...was hoping to bring this next trip....anyone else have problems with Skype in Patts ?
