  1. I believe the Dollhouse has been acquired and will reopen as Windmill 3.
  2. Another lazy day Sunday.... Buakhao surprisingly clear for a weekend morning. Still watch your step on Klang... this, I expect is as good as it will get! Hurry up, you were certainly faster last night! That nice clear safe pavement, the only one in town! Spot the tourists, anxious to lose skin to sunburn or to the tarmac! The improving rates. Will it ever open, what will it be like? Looks different in th
  3. Well a few years is a good run here I suppose....but perhaps they were refurbs....or they got new blinds. I usually trust to your memory better than mine.
  4. That location has been through a few iterations.. ..I recall it being remodeled to quite a nice looking Italian restaurant .... I think Covid killed that off. Quite a number of folks come here with money in their pocket and ideas, ambition and motivation.... and can't get it to work. @frostfire needs to move you out of the 'upgrade' group to 'Participant' I suspect.
  5. What's this new place about, at the top of soi 15...Buakhao end? Anybody know more......? I do hope they don't resume the digging up on that corner, or it will be stuffed before it can get going..... some other new places are struggling..... Is it me or is the baht weakening? The reality is the Thai economy is heading in a positive direction with exports (particularly to China) on the up, ..and tourism projected to get close to 2019 numbers next year. The gray cloud on the horizon... when will a new majority government be created?
  6. Tough... nearly all his work TV stuff. Countdown
  7. Well yes, I believe so. And we have a lot of cannabis cafes all over town. I believe a lot of rules still about selling it are still in force. Not something I use so can't really be informative.... like many things here, the situation is 'confused'.
  8. Is the plan to move any transformers? They cant' go underground! All that has been relocated is utility voltage ie 220vAC..... and as I said elsewhere, they weren't the main component of the tangles, that was coms cables, TV, Internet, old telephone. Have they buried the HV side or are they still up there at the top, looks like they are?
  9. They will be ripping it up in the near future so better to use the cheap stuff.
  10. pattayatalk.com is no longer valid...... use forums.pattayatalk.com
  11. Booking rooms on NYE is fraught with danger....sometimes get hit up with obligatory gala dinners! Happened to me via Agoda or Expedia and me not paying attention. (Yes still sore about it many many years later.)
  12. I don't know if it is an 'industry standard', but I recall Areca saying 1st one free, second is 500 baht surcharge.
  13. Aren't you supposed to simply send an email.
  14. Gave my ankle a twist today on the famous pavements...put me in a bad mood. This place doesn't deserve tourists. It's mostly decrepit. They may have liberalized the access to weed with all the shops and cafes.. but the shops themselves are not so liberal. More rules than a primary schoolyard.
  15. Yes that does not surprise me.... your entry into the Kingdom does get reflected in the system........bet you could do an online 90 day report while currently out of the country!
  16. Today is a no alcohol until 6pm day, due to elections. So a good day to get a small job done on a bar. But is it a quick modification, a full upgrade, or a repurpose at King's Club? Today's rates.
  17. Certainly an issue...... my pool gets clogged a lot during this time of year due to falling leaves. Guy who does my garden takes away debris, which is mainly leaves but heaven knows where he puts it.
  18. I once got held up by floodwater on Soi Bongkoch.. on the motorcycle. I stopped, water nearly to my calves, to watch other guys ride through to make sure no surprises lurked under the water. I felt tickling on my legs and looked to see half a dozen plus roaches crawling all over my legs. There were many others swimming around on the surface, obviously forced from the flooded storm drains. Gives me the creeps to recall it. I did quite a dance when I got onto a dry patch!
