It's renovation season again.. when bar owners who perhaps have more money than sense, throw good money after bad. The temptation of a good high and peak season is irresistible. Let us wish them well....... Pulse under the tools, looks to be a serious one. Always hit and miss in this place, but I had some fun on a few occasions. I was thinking one of the two bikes out front was maybe belonging to my pal keyman ....is he in town and investing? Fever A-Go-Go.... will join a couple of other new places in LK Metro.. ie LK Angels and Las Vegas. There is optimism in the area. Pandoras is disturbing the street today... hammers and chisels going at it... perhaps getting some chewing gum off the furnishings, or something like that. Champagne Club too.....

I had a couple of issues with using agents to book flights... they don't want to give refunds and it required persistence. Even when T&C cover it. You get bounced between them and the airline. So now I also do as many here have posted..... look at prices on a scraper like Skyscanner then book with the airline. The exception is when I want a hotel room in town where Agoda does the job....

TBH when I saw the OP photos I was thrown a curve ball, really thinking I was looking at a completed project... well for a second......with a little more thought I realized what I had seen on Sunday, could never have progressed so well. That said, I came down piss alley on Tuesday and took the opportunity to see the reality, that it still looked like a bombed out street.

Well here is the infamous soi 15, Bua Khao end, pretty much impassable.. but very busy working there this morning, a Sunday, so looks like they are at least getting on with it. Let us hope that lasts.. or doesn't, just get it over with. The back hoes are at it behind this truck... didn't dare try to get there... maybe ok from piss alley. And the exchange rates.

I just read that the Bua Khao end of Soi 15 has been properly dug up now. Perhaps @forcebwithu you can get us some pics and let us know if bike passable... I might take a look Sunday.

Yes, so far this rainy season, they have 'got away with it', there having been very little rain.

Well this was a Sunday morning at about 11am..... I remember being further North heading South thinking how many Thais could ride around there without their helmets.... then saw Police at the bottom of soi Excite and with just Western 'customers'.....

Be careful out there... after a bit of a hiatus, they are back at work. Apparently picking on the tourists on 3rd Rd. There was an even bigger effort a little to the South, catching the miscreants heading North in front of the old Excite area. They even had a couple of officers hanging around on soi Pothole.. to catch those taking a sudden detour. One of them the fattest cop I ever did see. Talking of Soi Pothole... many a 'Health Massage' sign slightly obscured by Bar signs... looks like a 1980's memory of Walking St.

Sorry to say those whole blocks are long overdue for demolition... been there a long long time and more could be made of the locations. Spent a lot of time in Dave's (GB) Bar nearby.

Reaction to elevated levels of thievery. Coincidentally, nearby me, a BBQ chicken shop/eatery, that is extremely popular, recently expanded.... and the result is somewhat like the picture you posted only smaller. I told my Mrs it was an overspill building for Nong Pla Lai prison. Ironic the above is near the Niran condo buildings.
