  1. Pattaya Klang? Not usually a place for bars. I took a stroll down a good section of Klang yesterday and did not notice it.... a pic might be a good idea.
  2. Pattaya Klang pavement has been a construction saga and frankly a ruddy great mess for a long time. But they got the Cambodian ladies out there now so maybe progress will be rapid... or maybe not. That doesn't look so bad.... Ah, a little bit more to do. Still could twist an ankle here. Or break a neck.
  3. The new place in town, looking more as per it's name. The soi 15/2nd Rd work is still ongoing... but it has not moved towards Buakhao (yet-Hideaway must be dreading that), but work seems to be mostly filling in and tidying up on the other side down from The Centara. Still little bit to do... bury the odd motorcycle maybe. And the beach, on a humid and sticky day....
  4. I would expect they have well given up that Bistro nonsense now. They used to have special 100 baht bottles before 9.00 I think it was, good starter place.
  5. Hmm not a good sign. Online sales was supposed to reduce these sellers who actually gouge people on prices... although middlemen might be the problem. Was at a Pa Boons restaurant the other day and was pestered 3 times by hawkers, 2 lottery and one jasmine garlands. The old Seinfeld line came to me... 'I will buy some later when I come round to your place, what time do YOU eat?'
  6. The sofas in Baccara look pretty good compared to the parrot perches that seem to be the norm there. I still have not even visited Treetown..... Thx for the pics.
  7. I have always felt road markings were a waste of paint here.
  8. I'll put that in the general requirement of 'Driving like I twat' shall I?
  9. Yes I took a pic and posted it yesterday....but you got the angle better.....that is HV up there. Tempted to go give that supporting girder a kick?
  10. I noticed people were parking in the yellow boxes on 2nd Rd too, also on the pedestrian crossings. 'Parking like a dickhead' is a special section required during the Thai driving licence test. Any thoughts as to what a few others might be?
  11. You must be on the wrong street... plenty of opportunity to break a limb or neck this morning! Not much business for the 'girls' at the MPs opposite the 7-11. Would you walk through, or lean on the support. Thai construction at it's best.
  12. Yes I saw the report of this incident and am glad you mentioned it. Shoddy, but this is what you get here......might take a look at the weekend but have been avoiding it tbh.
  13. That type of thing happens in a few Caribbean Places. I was on Aruba once and staying at a good hotel.... this place was impressive with a bit of a lagoon and canal into the lobby, and a launch would pick you up from there and take you to their private beach, which I think was on a spit of land running parallel to the coast. The approach to the airport was over that spit and you could enjoy the same experience of a jet flying just over your head. What a nice weekend, with a Venezuelan girl who was a recent graduate and was doing a bit of time at the power station I was at!
  14. One has to assume the work will move towards Buakhao and hence the front is going to get it bad....it does not appear to have moved in the last month, or 3 weeks I think I last tried to pass by there.... I am avoiding it nowadays.
  15. You can still get cheap beer on LK Metro.... I think this place used to be Kiss A Go Go, was up for sale...someone working on it now. From what I saw through a slightly ajar door, it still looks like a GGB inside. Anyone know what will become of this place? Surprising we still have people with money to spend a plenty coming to town....! I was all a panic, where is the temperature checking gadget at the entrance to Big-CX?
  16. I have been told of a new exchange place in town, that competes with and maybe betters the exchange rate offered by TT. Anyone in town want to check that out...? It is called Damini Co Ltd, on Soi Post Office (13/2). Just up from the Post Office itself towards 2nd Rd.
  17. Yes that point was discussed many years ago on this very forum.
  18. I recall it was an issue dropping off too...one driver said to tell them the driver was my wife's brother if he got flagged down....
  19. One car looks much like another after 12 hours of free drinks! But I admit the plate number helps, helps me with Bolt. Might depend on how busy it is there and hopefully it isn't 3 deep like drop-offs. Wasn't there an issue with 'unofficial' taxis getting in there at one time though? I seem to recall it was one reason they used the car park.
  20. It got a good wash down a couple of times during Covid.... first time since 1989!
