Shrinking Pattaya Reservoirs

More the point... why is it still pouring with rain in mid-November! -
Thanks, this appears to a policy that I have not seen announced, or could be something they are just doing in NZ... interesting. A policy to stop you changing your outward flight! Can't really figure out what they are up to other than tying the visa to the details they have seen. As to Visa exempt, I believe 45 days is slated to run until end of March 2023... as is usual, I suspect it will run right up to then before they tell us that it will be extended, become permanent, or even rescinded. Cheers mate!

I have recollections of them taking some time to form up and get on with it! -
The dry sunny weather I expect.... I can feel it in my eyes.

What you need to separate in your mind is a Visa Exempt arrival, and a Tourist Visa arrival. The former, you do not obtain any visa whatsoever, as you are in the group of countries that qualify for Visa exempt. When you arrive, you are currently given 45 days Permission to Stay, the stamp will clearly state when you are permitted to stay until. The latter, a Tourist Visa, is a Visa you get online or from a Thai Embassy, prior to travel. It has a Validity of 3 months from issue date for a Single Entry, 6 for the now rare multiple entry. You must use the Visa to enter Thailand in that period, to obtain a Permission of Stay of 60 days. The Visa also has the advantage of not needing a flight booking out in line with the Permission of Stay.... ie, travel without a Visa, and not have a flight out within 45 days, you may have check-in problems.

@forcebwithuI was strolling down 2nd Rd yesterday, ready to take on the climbing challenge of The Klang pavement, when my way was obstructed (like they do here) by a construction team. It looked like they were putting the final touches to a car showroom and service place.... heaven knows why I didn't pop of a picture of my own. It is a Isuzu place I think, opposite Central Festival, a bit further North. Later I was thinking what a stupid place for such a business... they are usually positioned on main Roads, just slightly out of town centers. Hardly accessible, or a good area for a test drive! -

My Mrs actually started to make them herself and got pretty good at it.... and occasionally presented me with a large coil as seen in the pic above, some of which I would freeze... Then I would buy some really fresh buns or ciabatta, and there was lunch with Dijon mustard or ketchup, as the mood took me.

Occasionally seen when they have the food stalls in the malls.... or on the Beach Rd. Can appreciate you liking them as they are good.... My Mrs said a stall appeared on out local market selling them, but not the best.... No longer around.

The Hideaway is truly having to hide these days. The screen obviously to keep the construction dust in the area off the customers, and their eggs and bacy! The people of City Hall should really pay compensation for businesses suffering in these construction areas. And this after the 2 years of Covid! It is not like they get on with the work, taking forever. I passed Cheap Charlie's earlier, very full of Sunday morning fry-up partakers... but have they got a few who find sitting inside the screened darkness of The Hideaway not to their liking. What a business having a business in Patts. -

We have to face the facts that we are in a high inflation cycle, personally I don't think say €1000 is so bad for what you get, 12,000 miles round trip. Betting a good percentage of that is government taxes. Thailand was talking of adding 300 baht to that, early next year. Chatted to a USA guy recently arrived and he went via Doha, and the A380 from there to Bangkok was packed, that is 500 passengers. Demand must be high.....

Where did you get the impression LK was 'elevated? Buakhao is an old swamp and I suspect isn't far above sea level, but it is in a depression. I was fortunate to leave town before 1pm yesterday and get home..... and watched the torrential rain there. I was on the North edge of the thunderstorms so knew town was getting hit bad. Went out to eat (at an indoor place of course) about 5.30pm, and driving home an hour or so later it had stopped and I was astounded how clear and clean things looked! The air had a good wash! Rumour has it, all the new pipes help things drain quickly so you may well be OK....(rain forecast today, but a dryer spell after that). -
Give it a short while and the rainy season should be over. They are getting even more of it there than we are here in Pattaya.

It has been a long time coming.... I have also done that slow train ride....but oh so long ago.
