  1. AA are a broker, not an insurance company. So the price increase was not down to them...That isn't to say AXA isn't good, it is just that I would expect AA to offer you AXA. I believe my first car insurance was AXA through AA. On renewal the increase was quite substantial so I asked AA for altenate companies and they offered another which was much less.
  2. This guy went to the same college as me...... Tim Curry
  3. Expats Club offer a group plan of 3 levels.Plan A Plan 1 (1.0M) Plan 2 (1.5M) 17,225 21,753 30,170 Baht.
  4. Some booths will take a copy of your passport, and further visits won't need you to take it.Or just change a lot when you arrive.
  5. Ghostbusters
  6. I booked one for January.... it was $286 so I hope YOU are talking per ticket! They do 'nickel and dime' you a lot,but still cheaper and more convenient than Singapore... and a lot cheaper than Thai.
  7. Raising Arizona
  8. Fergie making a mistake....... Well they went the couple of miles down the M61 to Bolton and this year didn't give them their usual drumming. I watched that and didn't think Bolton looked that good.
  9. Well I think I will have someone come in and build something. But I haven't got any space 'at the back' so likely need something that looks a little more like part of the existing building(s). The problem is the existing tiled roof, extending that is always awkward. Extend it onward and it must come downward and it becomes too low. I also do not want it to become a jumping point to the perimeter wall (hence the limited space at the back). I am somewhere between your idea and a full fledged extension for 120k or so. I will run power into it and maybe end up with a combined toolshed/ workshop. I am very much a procrastinator, and like to plan things to death before committing cash.
  10. Walk The Line..
  11. Idiot forum further up the page thank you!
  12. Avoiding the too obvious....Heavenly Creatures
  13. This fellow was good in that film... Leonardo DiCaprio
  14. Yes, that sounds right. I think it is a place I went in years ago that had a lot of expensive stuff originating from the USA. At the time I was looking for a new Fluke meter. I thought it had a different name back then. Thanks....
  15. A couple of surprises last night..... European efforts draining the stamina of the teams?Chelsea lose, Arsenal beaten at home by lowly WBA, Liverpool held to a draw by Sunderland.
  16. Yeah but the address says Sukhumvit so it is on the main rd there, not the darkside. I actually used to live up Soi siam cc (Nongprue area) so I am pretty sure it is not around there. I suspect a bit further South.
  17. Ben Kingsley (again)
  18. I don't need the music..... I was sitting there enjoying the sound of the sea lapping back and forth over the pebbles with a wonderful swish and slosh noise. But actually the tide was out and there was something funny going on under the next table!
  19. Yeah me too, I was in the Carrefour/Pattaya one and didn't see anything.I am looking to be able to lock it up (Mr Pastry), so a carport isn't quite it, someone will spot a 17k lawnmower and have it over the wall. A garden shed was a quick fix idea for me. I took a look at the 'True Value' stuff (wow-expensive) and it looked more like big wardrobes and cupboards, but a trip to the store may be worthwhile. It says Nongprue/ Sukhumvit but I can't place the location exactly. Anybody can nail it for me? Getting a contractor to build a bit of an extension is looking like the best solution, and since that is going to cost I may end up making it bigger and providing a bit of a workshop. Thanks for the feedback guys.
  20. Is this a coaxial cable, fibre optic or a telephone line (2 core)?Maxnet (now 3bb?) was TT&T....... I had that at my previous house. I am well out of town now and sadly there is no coverage by True here.... that is why 3g over the mobile phone network appealed to me as a solution to getting away from the awful TOT! I do have Sophon cable TV out here and there was rumour of them supplying internet over their coaxial network... I haven't specifically asked but believed it would be 'tested' in central areas.
  21. Alfred Molina
  22. I heard feedback of when Aston Villa played at Newcastle, they were completely stuffed 6-0 there.Someone working in a Newcastle area hotel saw the team getting completely shitfaced the Saturday night early Sunday before the early (12.30) match. I think that was when they lost their manager and obviously the team was like a gang of schoolkids with the teacher out of the classroom. Very unprofessional.... little kids with big bank accounts.
  23. I need to bite the bullet and buy a lawn mower and a strimmer. Those and other gardening stuff have to be put someplace and currently I don't have anywhere. I could have an extension added on to a building and stuff it in there. It would likely be more expensive than warranted, and I do hate having workmen round tossing fag ends, they always bring their damned wives and out of control kids too! A bit of a lean to might look a bit tacky.... My other thought was'The Garden Shed'... popular in the UK, likely as it does not need planning permission, and one can avoid the Council jobsworths. Has anybody seen anything like that for sale in the Pattaya area, I think I could manage to put it up with neighbourly help ? I can see it now, I'll put a little refrigerator and an old armchair in there with the stuffing poking out of a hole, buy a flat cap and take up pipe smoking! Any better ideas out there, or where can I buy a garden shed?
  24. The London Olympics.......? Perhaps the film starring.... John Cusack
  25. How do 'True' get the internet into the home then?I ask as I went to see them at the Pattaya Nua Tesco place and they said they could do nothing regarding my area!
