You will of course be hit by the 150 baht foreign ATM card tax using your card. So have a high limit and find machines that allow you to get most out, my Bangkok bank lets me get 25k, whereas I was once limited in a SCB machine.I alway deter cash carrying, a thief or absent mindedness can ruin your holiday, no refunds on cash loss! Travellers cheques offer your 'control' and protection against theft/loss, and if bought commission free offer a good overall rate. I am not particularly hurting for the coppers one saves using particular international cash transfer methods, but I like to support the cheaper ones!

Not sure that recovers deleted programs Joe, although a worthwhile and easy 'try'......... Try some internet searches mentioning BlazeDTV , perhaps some other poor soul has already had the problem or get in touch with the supplier to see if they know the fix. If there is a backup available on the computer it might be a place to look, but I smell a Windows re-installation.

That is your best point there and it made me nod my head.But denying your own populace a development in technology purely to protect self interest is 3rd World. Nevertheless Thailand does seem to progress quite well, heaven knows where they would be without their politics, perhaps a second Japan... I would love to be able to plug a 3g dongle into my computer and dispose of the hopeless 0-1Mb telephone line TOT deign to permit me to pay for. I can't get their maintenance to resolve my issues or even attend my residence, but there were 3 trucks parked infront of a nearby restaurant for 2 hours yesterday .... no wonder they don't get anything done!

I always got a good deal at the RG for a months rental, but if he is well booked likely he doesn't need to offer it.I also used to like the Nova Park as a second choice. Just never fancied laundering my own bedding/towels nor cleaning up the room.

Also the simple fact that the best 'rate' is never the cash one!Plenty of discussion on that on this board.... over about £2k works out better where the originating bank costs (£15-25) and receiving bank costs (500baht) are covered by the 0.7 baht/£ more you get.
