  1. I go back and get it!
  2. Yes, glad you agree, but I wasn't specifically meaning policemen there. But since they are drawn from the general populace the statement must apply to them too. Most European policemen are aware that there are 'other' countries, USA ones have hardly grasped the concept of other states!
  3. Who got LMD0P?
  4. Well summed up, although you missed on the point of the price of the wheeled turd being 2 or 3 times the cost of something similar!
  5. Would it not be suitable to find a clean copy of this module and put it into the right place.....?
  6. Well since I have no facilities here in LOS to reload it the 'suck it and see' option doesn't apply. I don't want to reload it especially with a crappy windows copy.. I think I saw a warning pop up from AVG about having to load ver 9.0 'or else'.... so I may not get the choice. I'll be watching this thread.
  7. Depends on whether it will be occasional use or living there full time? A condo of your own beats a hotel room, but after 25 years of mostly living in hotel rooms a single condo of under 40 m2 wouldn't appeal to me as a home..... perhaps make a good ST backup. I find having a spare shitter useful when she gets in one of them!
  8. Thanks guys.... I ignored the AVG 'UPGRADE' prompt (from 8.5 to 9.0) when it popped up on my XP machine..... I went to the AVG site and they recommend saving the latest Free installation file (do not open directly from the internet) Reboot the computer after the download. Launch the previously saved file. Anybody know if this gets around the problems without uninstalling the previous AVG version? # Please download the latest AVG Free installation file from our website # When you are prompted, please do not open this file directly from the Internet, but click the "Save" button and browse to the location where you want the installation file to be stored. We recommend saving the file to the Desktop. # Reboot your computer. # Locate the downloaded AVG installation file (it has a four color square icon and its name starts with AVG_...) and launch the installation by double-clicking on it. # Follow the installation wizard. # If AVG asks you for a computer restart at the end of the installation, please do so.

  12. Actually, after looking at it for a while, yes. But I had to help him...'it's a UK driving licence' I had to tell him. 'I have an international driving permit too, would you like to see that?'... but he declined, obviously too much in one day for a traffic cop in Missouri. Sober Englishmen was not what he was out to find that evening. But don't try to sound surprised Joe, I have found many in the USA would fail to be presumed worldly.

  15. Different horses, different courses...I had a USA patrol man completely baffled by my non-USA licence.... and it was the UK one completely written in English.

  25. You can look up the moving tail, also called a stabilator. Both the USA and Britain were involved in a race to be the first supersonic flight... and both reached an impass of excessive vibration, The P51 demonstrated this and the term compressibility phenomena was born. The swept back leading edge wing was a key development, which I believe was British. The British lost the taste for the supersonic race and passed a lot of data to the USA, this was caused by the death of Geoffrey de Havilland , September 1946. The first (singular) supersonic flight was indeed Chuck.... I did not claim the Comet was the best, just the first, and after the disasters of the Comet, anything would come along and look good. But the 707 had the advantage of being pre-warned of the design flaws and unforseen issues from the Comet.
