Good first post. I think there are now four positive comments and no negatives for this series. Welcome!

When I go to book flights both domestic and international, I often come across that it is listed as a particular airline's flight but the actual flight is on another carrier. If you book a flight through Delta but end up on a secondary carrier, is it still not related to the airline you bought the ticket from?

Glen Campbell's version of Gentle On My Mind was linked in his obit post but I thought I would share the original by its writer John Hartford.

This article goes back to 2009 Flight paths were changed back then because of North Korea's bellicose behavior. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/29544823/ns/travel-news/t/n-korea-threats-force-change-flight-paths/#.WYsa8VGGOUk If a shooting war were to break out with North Korea (we are still technically still at war from the Korean War), it could drag in China, Taiwan and Japan. There are many threats in air travel. Australia recently stopped a terrorist plan to blow up an airliner. What I believe I heard was that military grade explosives were seized. Those may have come from Turkey. It is a dangerous world but incidents resulting in fatalities due to nefarious human behavior are rather small in comparison to the total amount of flights daily.

Finished season 1 of Fortitude. I am not certain I will watch season two. Perhaps when I have run out of other things to watch. Started Ozark and MM picked a winner, although I have only seen episode one. It hits hard from the opening scene and does not let up.

Spike Lee to hold a rally for Kaepernick at NFL headquarters. http://www.tmz.com/2017/08/08/spike-lee-colin-kaepernick-nfl-headquarters/

You are correct. When I went to bed last night I realized my error. Poor Pettigrew.

Watching Fortitude on Amazon Prime. I am about 5 episodes into season one and it isn't bad. Have not seen a polar bear yet.

I did a search on flight times from JFK to BKK and it is 17:50 hours SFO to BKK is 17:10 hours Going from NT to SF adds another 5:15 to 5:30 and another stop over. If I lived in the east I would fly east.

My point was related to why other teams do not want to take a chance on him.
-
You made me get a second cup of coffee and look into him. I was incorrect. The last I heard about him he was off to Ghana or some such country. The Seahawks declined to sign him as a backup. I thought he was signing with the Dolphins but it appears now the Dolphins picked Jay Cutler as their backup. Now, of course, the Dolphins are being called racist by some: http://www.theblaze.com/news/2017/08/06/football-fans-accuse-miami-dolphins-of-being-racist-after-they-choose-not-to-sign-colin-kaepernick. I doubt many fans understand how divisive he was to the locker room. A quarterback is a uniter. He has to be by the nature of the importance of his position. He put his politics above the team. It hardly matters what the issue was. I would criticize a white quarterback for doing a similar thing. He distracted the goal of the team - to prepare for and win games. He was suspect in his motives because he had been demoted to a backup roll. It appeared to be all about him. When the quarterback (or any other player) is off the field it is good that he is involved in community issues, environmental issues and any other issues that are important to him. Once you hit the field you are a representative of your team and the league.

Kneel or take a knee. That sort of died. I heard Kaepernick found a job. He will. A few others. As a movement it was a short lived phenomena. The media made it seem bigger than it was.

Yes, I do not doubt what you say about Martin and he certainly deserved a big payday. My thoughts of Arya and Sansa are in a threesome with Tyrion but I'm a pig.

The biggest expense is getting the airplanes where they want them. Sometimes it costs money to make money. It is not fair to just say this flight lost money or that flight made money. The airlines work this stuff out with computers and talented people. That said, as one person said on Fox Business, she would never invest in airline stocks.

G. Martin has been promising to finish the original books for years but if he ever does it will be a repeat of what they decided to do on HBO.

Found this good article on the secret language of the flight crew. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-3200990/The-secret-language-cabin-crew-deadheading-heavy-flight-attendants-REALLY-talking-about.html

The recent flap with UA about kicking paying customers off of the plane to accommodate crew headed to the destination comes to mind. The only reason to take a plane is if it is part of regular route and has to get back or the destination needs more planes from that airline for other routes not currently covered. Mostly they just give seats on existing routes to crews at company cost and consumer irritation.

Steroid shots for the knee

I am pleased with the quick effectiveness. I am up and about with no discomfort. My ankle feels better too. I believe the rapid effectiveness may be based on they hyaluronic acid. It is naturally occurring in the joints. -
Yes, I read some people consider it fascist.

I watched 50 Shades Darker. I am not sure why. I didn't really like 50 Shades of Grey. Mini Spoiler: It is obvious from the ending that there will be a third movie.

I saw that and it must be some weird prejudice but I was seeing it now for a while and skipping by it. Now that you have recommended it, I will give it an honest look.

Understandable. It was not an organized military operation. It was a bunch of courageous, patriotic amateurs. They got the job done. That is the bottom line.
