  1. As you showed in your last two responses, the problem with supersonic airplanes was environmental (noise), hence it restricted routes, hence there was no market for further development. Thanks for the added info on the NASA design.
  2. I looked up side effects and they are significant enough to make me want to discuss this with my doctor. Around Sep or Oct of 2018, I will be following my son to the Pacific Northwest. After that I can look into a knee replacement. About everything I am looking at is a short term plan for pain management. All here have given me so much to look into. I plan to contact my doctor tomorrow so that I can talk to her about these many options and even try some things out. I started glucosamine sulphate as directed on the bottle yesterday.
  3. Understood, I got a bottle yesterday and it is indeed 1500 mg per day. I have started it. No doubt it will take a little time. My former mother-in-law is 95. A decade or so ago she was nagging me to try it but never did. Too stubborn I gues or in denial.
  4. You are correct and I will indeed contact them. Nothing to lose and everything to gain!
  5. How was the noise from the bars? I stayed at Pasadena years ago but it was a much quieter soi then.
  6. Dang, can't find it now. I saw a link about a NASA fixed wing supersonic that may be in the future for air travel.
  7. Big help with me at Areca in January. I will give this a try! I shudder to say this but you are always a big help! A beer or three or four in January! (Substitutes allowed)
  8. Thanks missed this a second ago. What is your concern about 3000 mg per day? I am into this too. Can't hurt.
  9. Thanks MM I will look into this. I think I am leary about messing with my spine but it might be worth it. The worst part of osteoarthritis is the limitations on activity but the next worst part is the lack of enjoyment of activities. With improved joints I still have the strength and stamina to do a lot more. I am walking every day. It just hurts. I still do it. Like my doctor in San Jose used to say, "Getting old ain't for sissies." Appreciate it!
  10. I will try it. It can't hurt. What do you take? There are different formulations. Yes, I am reading 4 to 6 weeks of relief. That would be perfect for my trip to Thailand. I need a replacement on the left side but that has to wait another year and a half or so for a number of reasons. So, just trying to manage symptoms until then. I gave up golf because back problems (plus the left knee). I understand that issue too.
  11. I have one very bad knee and one slightly bad knee. My former mother in-law is 95 and about every six months gets a steroid injection in both knees. I read somewhere that it can only be done twice a year and lasts for 4 to 6 weeks. Before my next trip in January I thought it would be good to get both knees shot up in late December. I am curious if anyone has any experience to share as regards this procedure. Perhaps you have had it done or have relatives who have had this procedure. Here is a link to what I am referring to: http://www.webmd.com/osteoarthritis/features/injection
  12. Having booked the Areca, how do I know which side I register at? My understanding is that if you are at the back building you arrive and register there? Booked my flight. The cost of cancelling my cheap ticket is so severe that only death or hospitalization will prevent me from going in January. woot
  13. From one Cassidy to another. Ted Cassidy
  14. Good thing you qualified the latter. I am looking for a sugar something or other.
  15. Oh, I did not know about the wine shop. I will be sure to visit it! I looked it up. I have been by it so many times.
  16. After much searching and examining loads of comments here and reviews elsewhere, I booked at the Areca Lodge again for January. Thanks to you all for your time and comments.
  17. They were building behind the pool the last time I stayed there. I did read that that building has a separate lobby. Perhaps that is on Soi 15. The soi always struck me as off the beaten path. I know from a previous comment that The Whisper Hotel is off that soi and the Mercure is there. A motorbike taxi took me down that soi to Second Road and almost got us splatted by a baht bus.
  18. ah thanks I had not recalled it but it has been a few years. And your English she better than my comprehension.
  19. That does sound nice as I have become a fan of your league. Are you speaking of where Cherry Bar is roughly next door? When I first went to Pattaya nine years ago. I could walk from South Pattaya to the Dolphins and back and here and there and everywhere. It was nothing but time to walk to WS and back or Soi 8 (Cherry Bar) in the evening even after all of that. Unfortunately, I can't walk as far without pain now (knees). I still love to walk but thought it better to find a place roughly halfway between WS and Soi Diana (Cherry Bar/ LK Metro bars. Those are my haunts. Yes I can tak
