Yes, the original version of La Cage aux Folles was brilliant. The first gay movie I ever saw. Highly recommended. I saw it at a time when I was still a bit anti gay. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077288/ The American version, The Birdcage, with Nathan Lane, Robin Williams and Gene hackman was not nearly as good but still OK. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115685/

There are storylines about gay people and aids and transexuals but it isn't all about homosexuality. So far I have found some of it to be done with a sense of humor. Another storyline was about the scary abuse of the rights of another. The male sex was not vulgar and watching two lesbians with a strapon will never bother me. Most of it is not about sex but about people. Just some of the people are gay. They don't represent the majority. It isn't all about homosexuality. edit: one of those lesbians is a tranny and I didn't see the package.

thx I will give it a chance. I did love the Nairobi chicken scene.
-
Two episodes of Sense8. Got into for a while with the Nairobi chicken but a Bollywood song and dance routine kind of put me off (ep. 2). I don't want to give too much away. I guess I will try one more episode.

It was OK. I thought Cotillard was excellent but I felt Pitt just showed up for a paycheck.
-
I watched the Brad Pitt movie Allied last night. I can't recommend it.
-
Yes, sorry it is finished. They ended it well.

Liked him better in Justified. Not sure about zombie stuff. Although the zombies attacking the wall in World War Z was pretty great. Great special effects flick.

Watched the first three episodes of Billions and I like it. Moving disc 2 to the top of my queue.

The Truth about Aids/HIV
midlifecrisis replied to PattayaPete's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Sex has always been dangerous. If Al Capone was here to testify, he would agree with that. (syphilis) I knew a young lady in the late 60s who got the clap, it went untreated for too long and ended up in her sterility. -

I had never heard that about two condoms. I have never had one break using one. It makes sense that they are not designed for two on at a time. -

I am 66. I am not advocating unsafe sex but want to put something in perspective. The older a man gets if he develops prostate cancer, the less likely it will be what kills him. Often it isn't even treated. An older man who contracts HIV is also less likely to die from AIDS, especially if treated. With the meds today it is a chronic condition. However, treatment is expensive. AIDS develops from 5 to 10 years after exposure so someone my age may die before getting sick, Male life expectancy is a bit over 78 in the USA and dropping. Other STDs scare me more than AIDS so it is worth c -
Thanks! Will give it a look. I am on disc one of Billions tonight. Tomorrow will go to season one of Sense8.

Watching Genius with Geoffrey Rush as the old Einstein and Johnny Flynn as the younger adult Einstein. I like it. It's a National Geographic Channel production. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/genius/

Thanks for that. After three seasons I have started thinking about reading at least one of the books. I will start at the beginning.

Yes, a better way to do it. I don't have to wait months to get to the end. That said I am watching Fargo and Better Call Saul in real time.
-
Not EPL but Ronaldo today had a hat trick. Such skill. So hard to root for as a person but so talented.
-
Watched Deepwater Horizon. Good. Not great. Tells the story of the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. Good cast and special effects. Also watched Fantastic Beasts........ I can't recommend it. Too much of JK Rowlings schtick. I have long outgrown it.

I am not sure if it is the same there but in American sports they tend to recycle many of the same guys. Rather than try a new coach or manager, they go to the same mediocre guys from past mediocre teams. That is not completely true but more common place than one would expect. Perhaps they are loyal as an institution to lifers.

Do you think he is done in the EPL or other top leagues? I suppose if he won a Champions League that might help. What are the odds of that?
