I have no experiance of retirement in Pattaya ,but do have experiance of living in Issan Khon Kaen. I do beleive if you want to settle down with Lady ,Pattaya is not the place due to many reasons. If you have a budget of about 80000/90000 bhts month you can have great life in LOS compare to back home. Of course you can get by living in LOS on 40000 bhts month ,most falang teachers here only get 30000 bhts month wage. Here is a update as I have been looking as my years insurance comes to end end of Aug with Bupa But before I make any decission whether to change or not. I am going to Ram Hospital at Khon Kaen for full medical check up ,as Bupa will pay up to 700 bahts for one off every year full examination. If Im ok think I will change as Bupa becoming far more expensive than others I have found. Here are some qotes I have so far based on the age between 56 to 60 Bupa Platium 2 million baht cover costs 53000 bahts with out outcalls. AA maxi care for 5 million cover ,with the 40% deductions not

Last Aug I got my medical insurance at a Bupa office ,Its opposite road to Tim shopping mal on 2nd road. I paid for platium cover with bupa ,cost me 28000 bhts for the year ,out patient not included. I am covered up to 3 million bahts Now I know a liitle more about Thailand ,cover far to high. I was 55 when got insurance but think at 56 years will go up. But its a catch 22 here if you are not insured by the time you are sixty with Bupa,will not give insurance to you. This year will look at different covers and include my lady and her child if I can ,pay about same but reduce my 3

I have found for the price Pattaya have far more good rooms to stay at a very good rate than most places around the world. Wish Cambodia was the same ,for same price rooms are very basic Looking to go to Goa to a wedding invite in March ,very hard to find a very good room and pay the same price as I would in Pattaya. and if you go to othe holiday locations around Thailand the same standard room as Pattaya which I use I would have to pay a lot more ,like in Phuket ,Koh Chang,Koh Sumui,Hua Hin,ect

Was going to book Royal Paradise with Pagonda web site price shown ok for 2454 bahts night but when booking this did not include taxes ect ,so total price was 3000+ Bahts night so did not book. After looking how many hotels there is in Patong,I have decided that im sure will not all be full ,think will be many rooms available. So I am now not booking till end of October. Did see a nice hotel CN ,but no swimming pool ,price about 1700 bahts night in Dec Think many members from Phuket forum use this place.

Just looked latestay showing 3800 bahts for July so sure for Dec 4300 bahts So its looking I will booking Royal Pardise hotel for about 2400 bahts for new part of hotel. Still in Khon Kaen The rooms in Khon Kaen hotel looking very nice for about 850 bahts night

Well been looking to book hotel in Phuket ,going on holiday with my Thai Lady, on 8th Dec till 15th Dec. As I am on holiday with my lady I am looking for good standard hotel ,but still near beach and Patong night life. Also nice rooms Been searching many web sites today ,best prices I found was with Agonda web site by far. I know prices are higher for this period ,but unsure whether to make late bookings or book now with these deals ,some already offering 20% discount. I like the look of these hotels have any body every stopped at any or know any more around these prices ?

I stopped there last xmas week ,only place on Soi LK I could find available as I had not made any pre bookings. New owner then from Norway I think. Rooms very cheap think I only paid 400 bhts night,also this was xmas week ,but very basic rooms i thought. But new owner was a very nice and helpful guy. He even let me use his electic kettle for the week. If you want a budget place to stop on Soi LK Blue Moon Ok

Now I have been living with my lady coming up to 1 year ,this is my experiance sure may be different for others. I do the same as what I would do in UK if living with a falang woman.
