Maybe is due to Thailand not want all the ladies to leave. Joking apart i have always had to pay at least £100/£200 more flying bbk to UK and back again. Why not sure ,but somebody must know . Thats one reason why Me and my Thai lady do not go to UK every year but plan every 3 years now. The savings not going back to UK pays for a couple of good holidays here in LOS every year. Well this is my xmas period planned with My lady Fri go to daughters school xmas concert ,the falang teachers put a good xmas show on for the kids ,also be singing carols. then after concert go to my favrite thai bar which has just open near my house,have a few large leos at 55 bhts bottle and a good fish,chips,peas with Tarta sauce ,my lady and daughter also love this food. Xmas Eve after noon go to my falang local bar ,as be lots of my mates there ,also serving up sausage rolls and mincepies Xmas Eve night stop in with my lady and her daughter ,look for some xmas film and have a nice meal with family with few glasses of wine. Up early on Xmas morning ,open presents with the family ,not sure if im getting any ,but who cares as long as daughter has nice time. About 10am go out for nice breakfast ,place near me sell great breakfast for 50 bhts , Noon we all go to local falang bar ,where many falangs there will be with their ladies and children,last year even had a father xmas there. 3pm go out for xmas dinner ,going out with 4 of my mates and their ladies and children will also be with them. After diner just go with the flow and sure we will all be in party mode ,so sure be some dancing going on haha Boxing night I will be out alone with mates watching the football Then after this night rest up ready for the next party days at NY Who says xmas in Thailand is no good ,well me ,my family and mates here in Khon Kaen always have a great time.

Im hoping July Thia smile will fly cheaper flights to other areas ,but will have to see

Well im keeping mine in the UK ,was reported 2 years ago in the press that my private pension scheme was one of the best in Europe Im with British steel pension ,also paid 38 years into this on finale salary ,so it least i will have good income living here in Thailand. I will take the tax free lump sum and smaller monthly payment,invest in fix term ,fix interest rate ,at least il know what money i will have and plan my living budget on this. At least living in Thailand I can receive gross on my interest on my uk saving accounts.

Just looked at Thai Air price for 28th is about 2500 bhts 3 flights a day but on this date only flight available is the 7am flight others booked up. You could catch train from BKK to Khon Kaen as well ,i posted 4 trains a day ,2nd travel is very good,also can get a sleeper see their web site below http://www.thailandbytrain.com/NorthEasternLine.html Think I will have to start working for Khon Kaen tourist board haha

Well I hear what you say ,but very hard to believe all buses booked up ,which company did you try. The best company to use from BBK to Khon Kaen is Nakhonchai Air www.nca.co.th 28 buses a day from 06 30am till 24:30 You can even pay and book your tickets at 7/11 shops. Now if you was travelling on FrI 30th of Dec ,i could believe all booked up ,as the week end before NY is the busiest week end in the year and its crazy to travel as trip could take up to 12/14 hours due to all the traffic on the roads.

Many green snakes in Thailand ,this is a pit viper which if bitten can make you very ill,you must go to hospital for a injection straightaway. These snakes live in trees in day time and come down to the ground at night ,I have had a couple in my garden here in Khon Kaen in last 3 years

This year xmas is on Sunday ,so schools i know are close,also banks will be closed ,but agree shops will be open. Yes New Year is big in Thailand ,also the time never to travel from bkk as all roads will have traffic jams the fri before and the mon/tue after.I know one person told me he took 12 hours to travel from BKK to khon Kaen ,normal 6 hours

I agree spending xmas with a few friends is far better than spending it alone,more the better .

Get your lady to ring train station ,as it may be possible if pumps are in a cadge But think have to be third class i think A 9 hour journey from BKK to Khon Kaen ,seats will be very hard ,but cost about 250 bhts. More better 2 nd class but sure would not allow animals on this class. Maybe get Mr Dream Taxi to train station ,would have to ask him for costs Then you need transport from Khon Kaen to her village. I have a very low key xmas here in Khon Kaen I buy present for our young daughter ,this year its a nice bike Ask my Thai lady what she would like ,she says a nic trip to hairdresser would be nice ,so thats sorted. No presents for her mama and papa as i do give a little to them for a new year village party. Go to my daughters school fri before xmas to see xmas concert which the falang teachers put on for the Thia students As for me its great seeing my friends on xmas eve for a few drinks. Also going for xmas dinner with my friends and their wifes/girl friends/children at a falang bar,so looking forward to this Boxing day a another good day with my mates watching the football In summary I still like xmas here in Thailand as great to get together with all the xpats here
