New First Class Bus Khon Kaen to Pattaya
Dr Mick replied to Dr Mick's topic in Transport in Thailand
You can fly direct to Khon Kaen with Thai Air ,but not cheap ,but in July Thai Air is planned to launch Thai Smile ,new budget airline which will fly to Khon Kaen ,well this is Thailand we will have to waite to see. About your question ,you can fly to Udon with air asia ,great offers at the moment. Then many buses every day from Undon to Khon Kaen. But if you can catch one of the vip bus ,like chan tours from Undon far better and time takes about 1 1/2 hours. Also trains from Undon to Khon Kaen ,i take the 3rd class about 30 bhts haha If you need any more info just pm me If you are pl -
A bonus living in Thailand does not cost a lot to fly to a Paradise location for your holidays.I have just booked flights with Air Asia to fly from BBK to Krabi in March ,return flight cost about £50 ,you can pay this for a single train fare back in the UK Good offers on at the moment with Air Asia ,but be selective with their add ons as price will go up. For example when i looked at offer to fly from BKK to Krabi in March ,started off at about 870 bhts one way with the taxs ,1 baggage over 20 kilos ,normal seating total cost about 1200 bhts one way But still very good price compare t

I do my 90 day reporting in Khon Kaen So easy. Fill form in ,copy of passport and copy of my extension due to retirement stamp. Obtain ticket for the 90 day extension from machine in office. Normal does not take more than 5 minutes from start to finish As been said before you can not do a 90 day reporting if your extension stamp has expired, So best to get your paper work /letter from my embassy in my case ,ect, ect at least 2 weeks before your old extension stamp expires. Then you have all paper work to take to imm office and can obtain new stamp couple days before old stamp expires.

Im sure many do not have funds for extension due to retirement of non o imm visa, but many still get this in Pattaya im sure. Maybe cost you about 22000 bhts? ask about in Patts. You do need your funds in a Thai bank ,I set up a SO back in UK for £1500 month taking money from my HSBC bank Uk to my HSBC Bangkok bank ,by my internet banking ,mind you you have to be a Premier member with HSBC. Then sent copy of this to UK Embassy in BKK who issued me with letter saying i had the funds. But also you must have evidance where you live in Thailand ,rent contract ,house book ,ect, ect

How do you bargain down hotel prices?
Dr Mick replied to Obsession's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Just been looking how much for room at Sabi Resort On Asia.com the price for superior room in Nov is 1550 bhts night is this the normal price if i booked direct to hotel ???? Strange just looked again and price in 2 minutes now says 1300 bhts night So by 2 minutes thats 250 bhts saving a night Just looked at Sabi Lodge own web site says for same room above price reduced from 1950 to 1450 now So it looks booking with Asia .com would be better than booking direct with hotel -
How do you bargain down hotel prices?
Dr Mick replied to Obsession's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I use AsianRooms.com at times have good discounts, better than the hotels own web sites. But also if you use a smaller private hotel/guest house many times and good customer ,sure some will offer some discount for you as being a good customer. But I beleive if you walk off the street and book hotel on the spot you will always have to pay the higher asking price, this is what i have found. -
another bad experience with the Brits
Dr Mick replied to peckerwood's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Think maybe you may come accross to the brits as not very nice as well.Where are you from? Also about the contract ,if it said you should give full months notice ,you should have and not just move out because you found a cheaper place. Giving a notice allows for owner to find somebody to rent in this time ,thus not loosing any money with property being empty for long period. Follow the contract and I would have been on your side. I have rented few houses in Thailand and always followed contract without having any issue when I have moved on. If you think Brits are keen on contracts -
Well i have just rang ,did get answer ok But date I wanted ,end nov only had 2 nights out of the 4 days I wanted ,also the delux room type i wanted was fully booked for the 4 days . So it looks like hotel doing ok without answers to e mails ,but still think hotel should still answer e mails even if rooms were not available for the long term success of this hotel. Saying this looking at the rooms i think will have no issues with being full in the future.
-
I have tried their web site ,twice in last 48 hours ,trying to arrange a booking of a room ,so far only had 2 automatic reply e mails sent back to me saying Contact us Thanks for contacting chinagardenpattaya.com - You will receive a reply within 24 hours Well now 48 hours ,so maybe just ring them might be more easy to make booking. Maybe nobody checking their mail at moment , I hope the owners of the place reads this as might be missing out of customers who want a room in the future.

Im sure be plenty of offers as this is a night which is good to be with a Thai Lady, My mate Mi Papa in town ,sure if read this he be at FLB club in the line up

For Dr Mick ... Thai Smile to Khon Kaen from July 2012?
Dr Mick replied to CheshireTom's topic in Airline Discussion
Thanks for info Tom This is one thing what Khon Kaen miss ,a low cost airline ,at moment only expensive Thai Air. Will sure be good for the growth of the city . Even better still if prices can be around air asia price which do not fly out from Khon Kaen My trips to Pattaya in future would be much shorter. 15 minutes to air port 45 minutes waiting at airport 45 minute flight 90 minute taxi ride to my hotel in Pattaya So total time about 3 1/2 compare to bus time of about 9 hours ,so this would be great Also maybe this would encourage more of my mates to come up and see me in K -

Suvarnabhumi airport and floods
Dr Mick replied to satyr's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Well all ok in Khon Kaen, not had any rain for over a week now. Today went for a walk around the main lake near my house, water very low for this time of year. Was a great walk ,sunny no clouds in the sky ,cooling breeze bringing the temp to a nice 28c Beer tents being set up around the lake ,ready for Nov and Dec festivals ongoing in these 2 months. Love this time of year as lots of eye candy to see whilst having a cold beer. NEWS FLASH BKK ladies coming up to Khon Kaen to work as can now not work in BKK. Iv I said i love living in Khon Kaen -
What ever been happening in the UK and Thailand ,I have a standing order set up every month to send money from my UK bank account to my Thai bank account and I have notice i have had between 48.6-48.2 bhts in these months in the last year. Wish it be 50 bhts but still happy at the rate im still getting at the moment. I use HSBC Globel transaction between my bank accounts ,so no transfere charge and think a good rate exchange compare to others i have seen . So answer to your question think the baht will stop about the same ,no effect by the floods ,also Thai kept intrest rates the same ye

Maybe its due to many bars in Khon Kaen have more Middle Class Thias in as customers who do have good money to spend and if service was poor ,bar would loose many customers. Some of the bars I go too have 100/200 customers in at times but I have found service is good and smiles plenty.

Pictures of Ron's(bushcraft) Birthday Party
Dr Mick replied to THE DRUNKEN DUCK's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Ron was a great party ,Me and Lin had a wonderful time But worried a bit Lin loved somebody else more than me ha ha -
I would dissagree with this as I still get plenty of smiles living here in Khon Khon from complete strangers ,I still think Isaan people are one of the most friendly people in Thailand, this is another reason why i love living here. I also still like my visits to Pattaya for long week ends ,my first post was about service/smiles in bars for all customers.
