Thanx for report,brings back sweet memories of my one and only trip to the capital in '05. Have not been to Pattaya for 4 yrs now..but is sounds as if the City is just getting a makeover like everyother city in the world gets at sometime..construction stimulates the economy.It's inevitable that prices will go North due to better facillities,despite it being a fucking shithole of a beach.That is i believe the conundrum of Pattaya..its a beach resort with a beach you cannot swim in...so there should be some leverage there for the paying tourist because its marketed as a beach resort????...no other country in the world would have the audacity to pull this stunt,would they?Im currently

I find Thai officials relaxed and easy going compared to the Australians....they're only doing they're job ...it must get boring like any other job....plus Thais see loads more traffic than Australians...i tip my hat to the Thai customs staff....Australians wouldnt be able to cope with the volume of traffic the Thais put up with....theyd be raising the white flag after 1 day....Lol...

Hi.as an Australian i believe i can make an unbiased contribution based on my observations. The OP here is pretty damned well honest IMO and has a good insight. I think it comes down to education,i think you'll find most Americans abroad have been to college/university so they're very disciplined and have good manners. as for the English,and this could apply to some Australians as well,higher education isnt/wasnt very high on the agenda with they're parents from what i can tell. just my opinion. but ive met some very friendly brits ova the years...i think every country has
