This sounds very promising. maybe I will take the family there for Xmas dinner.. I think this is a good thread to withdraw my previous recommendations for the Indian on Beach road near Soi 10. It really, really used to be a good place but went there last year and the service was bad and food disgusting but the Indian couple weren't there and it was run by Thais..

Agree with all of this with the following input. Rim Talay stinks of sewerage Moom Arroi is a great afternoon eating place. Quiet, relaxing chill out place. If you are a couple get a table with loungers.. Sit, eat, drink, lay back, relax, Sit, eat, drink, lay back , relax...No pressure on you to leave like the WS establishments..Stomach Full? just lay back , relax then order "Picky" things. Go to Best supermarket Dolphin roundabout the day before to buy your wine and stick it in the fridge. Take it with you and ask for an ice bucket..My recommendation is Taylors sauv blanc or Chardonnay at @ 600 baht a bottle. Don't go there at night or on public holidays. It may be OK but equally it might be shite. I've never had a bad afternoon there.. Lung Suway is the only place I know that openly sells beer and spirits on "Dry" days. If you stay in Patts the drive back can put a downer on the Joie de vivre you experience during the meal. The wine in PBG is around 1,000 Baht cheaper than EXACTLY the same wines in the seafood restuarents on WS. My recommendation is Number 12 on the menu!!

This is very true but some places are getting greedy. and blaming it on tax.. Exactly the same wine in PBG and Lobster Pot......Lobster Pot is 1.000 Baht more expensive but PBG has a better view and better service....

Those that do and go back to room I hate to think what the sheets look like in the morning.. ..Ricky makes Al Murray's pub landlord look twee and is so out of place in an agogo it is embarrassing....

I think I may have read the book...A ship sinks and a kid has to survive by killing and eating the other survivors, including his Mother, but throughout the book this is rationalised by him imagining them to be zoo animals? Maybe the wrong book come to think of it.. EDIT = Just checked. It is the same book....Hope I didn't ruin the ending...The tiger was his Mother.....I think
