I used to be able to go there and not get charged corkage for my BYO wine purely because of the money I spent in there..It used to be family run with a convivial atmosphere...even the "scary" ladyboy was fun to chat and drink with...except when she crossed her legs wearing that short red skirt......

I have sold my 2 condos in that area recently. When I bought off plan around 10 years ago the chart on the wall indicated a good mix of British, German and Scandinavians. At the time it was mainly Scandinavian in the Wong Amat area with more Germans as you got nearer to and on Naklua rd. I sold 1 condo to a Russian couple and the other to a Chinese couple. When I asked the condo manager she confirmed that it seemed to be a pretty common thing for that area nowadays. Walking around that area I can definately confirm that it is mainly Russians living or holidaying in that area.

Yep I absolutely , totally agree. My Mother is alive today because of the NHS Emergency services after she had a heart attack last year....at 2am in the Dorset countryside!!.... She is also very mobile due to 2 hip replacements and 1 knee replacement.. My comment wasn't meant to deride the NHS Emergency services or anybody that works for them as I have total respect for them especially Poole General Hospital. My point was that I can go to a choice of 3 Private hospitals here in Pattaya any time I want for anything I want whereas in UK you MUST see a GP first and then get a referral. It is a bizarre system that my NHS friends and I ( 2 Paramedics) often talk about over an Abbot Ale ( me) and a diet coke ( them). If those that had Private Health Insurance were allowed to go direct to a Private Hospital it would take a massive burden off the tax payer and allow those without Health Insurance to enjoy a better, quicker service. As a total TF I would also like to add that parking fees at NHS hospitals are so steep that the savings alone from this will pay for your Private Health Insurance in Thailand!!...OK, Tongue in cheek but you get my drift!

Indeed!! Here in Pattaya you can walk in with your Health Insurance straight into a Private hospital...In UK you HAVE to see a NHS GP and be reffered to a private hospital....The NHS would save millions by allowing direct access to private hospitals......
