  1. I often wonder Why didnt they change it to French after they allied themselves to France? .
  2. Savings !!!! Unless the paid for passengers go disappear into another cloud of dust...they still owe them flights/refunds And with all aircraft they eat money sitting on the tarmac unused .
  3. Fair... maybe not But I hazard completely in accordance with the term and conditions of the 'flight that they paid for'. Just like with an insurance policy, its not what YOU consider moral & just or what YOU think you are covered for, it is in fact what it SAYS in the policy. And as I said they are all demanding immediacy which is neither available or an entitlement. .
  4. Not at all What is happening is that everyone is at the airport huffing n puffing and stamping their feet for a seat on the very next flight Well as we all (should) know the good people holding tickets on that flight got there first, so we have a flock of peeps chasing none existent capacity To quoter from the article: The answer is to reschedule forward to when there is capacity and stop laying around in the airport grumbling and farting like a bunch of itinerant tramps .
  5. I don't see that anyone said that they are ON welfare They are the product of welfare state mentality (not any of my responsibility...who's going to sort it out) Instead of berating helpless check in girls to tears, reschedule your flight and go check in to a hotel till that day comes around. Be they nurses, cargo handlers et all the OP stated the bleat was that they've run out of money, which as I said is sad testament especially to gainfully employed world travellers n'est pas? & if your tiny little world starts to crumble if you're not back in work for a few days...again...WTF are you doing on the other side of the planet. .
  6. Sorry But WTF are people doing on the other side of the planet if they haven't got the resources to see them thru a coupla extra days accommodation (at Thailand prices!) Typical welfare state thinking... 'Im in a predicament and its everyone else's problem/responsibility except mine' .
  7. Recall seeing fookin great gallon jars of them in Carrefour (far left hand corner near bakery) .
  8. At least Billy Goat gruff gets the day off .
  9. A little outside the 3G zone but nothing a high gain antenna plumbed into the USB Dongle doesnt get around .
  10. This situation would take but a little money to resolve BUT As I said in my first post noising things up here (and who knows where) negates it all, so is best forgotten about .
  11. As a bare minimum response yes, and immediately Not IN Surat, test done from 400miles away .
  12. The simple answer is yes of course they can be got The caveat is you may not be able to get them though .
  13. The very fact you're asking advice signals that you're not cut out for the vengeance/resolution route, and you'd be well advised to forget those avenues. (You're in the current situation because you allowed the initial minor 'snubs' to go unchallenged/resolved and thus emboldened this less than serious antagonist to up his game) .
  14. Situation normal Take some half cocked idea that might - just might - engender a tiny bit of revenue & completely fuck the towns fragile infrastructure for a couple of days or so to pursue it ! Throw into the mix the ever present plague of fuckwitted song thew drivers and Rot Tours & there you have it....chaos .
  15. Been using them off 'n on for over a decade now Most people with knowledge of the town know of it Interbank rate on GBP:USD is 1.525 (which you will not get anywhere on the planet with your 400Gordon vouchers) Phoned Gold bank they'll give you 600USD today for them There's never commission at this exchange just daily flat rates .
  16. GBP into USD in Pattaya Gold Bank Soi Rungland Easey peasey .
  17. Banks / exchange booths etc.. Pattaya is littered with them Chopping up usual tourist amounts, nothing to choose between them. Larger amounts (like those that you shoulda declared when travelling ) Try the independent exchanges 'gold Bank' Soi Rungland, Kodak shop opp Big C & a little north on Sai Song, for a tad better than bank rates (both these have identical rates BTW) (Little known fact but 'Gold Bank' will change serious amounts into a bank cheque too ...launderers' delight ) Better rates / bigger amounts..... you should transfer into a Thai Bank Account direct
  18. The cost differential of frikken airport taxis only eclipsed in importance by the few baht to be saved scouring the town for a 'full english' .
  19. Cheapest in Pattaya (ask Thais) Gentle, Competant & cheap Clean scale 150Baht Filling 400 Baht Crown / Bridge 3K Baht per tooth So 4 x 3000baht 12k Getting change out of £250GBP Card says Nongprue Banglamung which some think is past the edge of the world but he's only in a Soi off Pattaya Klang .
  20. Just go to Carrefour - Ive seen a 'Tourist Taxi' thing that they have in the car park so likely as not those poor unfortunates without four wheels under them can get a ride home with their groceries with too much difficulty .
