  1. Makes me think about all the Avatars, visible to the Non-Members ...... Mhm, just thinking .... Sunny
  2. Don't know much about AOL as I prefer real internet ..... I never had trouble connecting from the Hotels, although there are some things to take care of: First the Hotel has to have a IDD line; a phone which connects thru an Operator is a no-go! (Leaves out the Diamond Hotel for instance!) Second you should make sure that the Hotel charges local calls on a per call rate (5 to 10 Bt a call) rather than on an per Minute rate! (Leaves out the Haven Hotel). Third you should make sure that the Hotel does not automatically disconnect the Call every 10 or 15 Minutes (Leaves out the Sunshine Hotel
  3. No, because this Joint is considered Ghost-Friendly ;-) Sunny 40 Days to G(h)o(st)
  4. Niall, I'm shure you will like it, and I hope you stay in Pattaya longer than November 30, the day I will arrive and ask you for a cold one ...... Sunny 45 Days to go (or so)
  5. Residence Garden, although 10 Minutes to Walking Street might be a tight race, when walking. Everything else should be to your liking. Sunny 46 Days to go
  6. When I inquired the rates for Sandy Spring in July they quoted a reduction from 2500 to 1990 with the Membership. I still have the Email. Butof course that was Off-Season. Sunny
  7. Aniteowl, I have always carried my laptop in my travels to Thailand and never had any problem with thefts so far, although I never cared about locking it in Room Safe. I stayed at Residence Garden twice with my laptop, I remember the Room Safe was relatively big, but can't tell if big enough for your Laptop. I suggest you buy own of these inexpensive Kensington Locks, a sturdy steel rope witch you can use to attach the Laptop to a rather unmoveable part of the room's furniture. Connecting to the Internet is usually no problem, once the Hotel provides you with a DD phone line. I had rather pro
  8. Shaun, please believe me I'm not the pedantic type of guy when it comes to typos, but some parts of your message kept me on the floor laughing for hours now .... Chaina Airlines .... I always wanted some SM action during my flights, lol! catch a nep ..... That's usually the first thing I do when I arrive in Bangkok: catch a nep (Nana Entertainment Plaza) .... or go and get a god massage ...... Yeah, god is great, especially on massages! europian passport ..... Yeah, Ethiopian, eh, or? Once again, sorry for the intrusion (I have not too much to contribute about Amsterdam),
  9. Time is getting nearer, yes! I just changed my Flight so I will arrive on November 30th, given the fact that it will be October very soon, hey, hey, I am on the way! Whoever wants a free ride on November 30 at 6am or so to Pattaya, just let me know! Well, it's still more than 2 Month, but in less than a week's time my Calender will read October, and I will be on my way in November, so ... in little more than a week I will be saying: "c u next month!" Sunny
  10. Once I start thinking about it: There were three or four male friends I talked about secret numbers in Room Safes, all told me they use their birthday ...... And I remember one bloke I spoke some two or three years ago about that, who used his ATM number ...... (This thing reminds me of the Email Password thread ....) Sunny
  11. I also much prefer the in room safes with number code. But on the one they use in Residence Garden, where you have to puch in your number every time a new after you opened it, and it also displays the new number for a few seconds, I found this strange. First the girl might be on yyour side while you do put in the number. You can probably type a number on a number Keyboard on such a way that she cannot read it, but with the display she (probably) can. And, especially after a night´, filled with laughter, kisses, drinks and general debauchery, the chance is quite big that you punch in a differen
  12. Did the same Flight this June. Airport is about 50 km away, South of Pattaya, they run a Shuttle Bus Service from the Airport to Pattaya, tell them your Hotel, and they will be stopping there. I think I paid 100 BT. Sunny
  13. In Pattaya I have yet not come across a Hotel with Broadband. In case you do, please post it here, as I) am in a similar Situation. This year I used Dial In or went to the Internet Cafe at the Sunshine Hotel (where I stayed) and connected there with my Notebook. (60 Satang / minute). In Bangkok I can suggest the President Group Services Apartments, Grand President has in Room DSL 128 for about 200 Bt / day, worked quite well for me. But I don't like the rooms so much. President Solitaire, it is a great upmarket Serviced Apartment on Soi 11 a little more away from Suikhumvit, the roms are marv
  14. Being an Austrian, I almost fully agree. I usually travel EVA Air, as they also have a direct Connection VIE - BKG. On Lauda I think the food is usually ok, but the seats (in Economy, I rule out Business as the prices are just above what I am willing to pay) are the most crammed of all Airlines I've flewn (and this includes a lot of American ones) Sunny (Has just made his booking on Eva Air Evergreen Deluxe for December ....)
  15. Thanks Gabor, I check out your HP. Let me know how it develops, I guess from the Photos I've seen I would like to rent your A or B! Sunny
  16. Thanks for the Info, Gabor! I would like to stay at View Talay this December, can you tell me where to rent one; Period around Dec. 10 thru 30 (have not finalized my plans yet). So who rents out for this short period? Any Weblink, or Email? Sunny
  17. Thanks Gabor. After Half a Year owning a Condo at View Talay, are you happy with the investment? Also: Is it possible to rent a Condo there (even Yours would be considered ....) for a two or three Week Period in December this Year? Sunny
  18. Thanks for the replys! BigDude, I have been to the Water Park, the Hotel on this Area I did not fancy. To me it looks as it is full with Tourist Groups. Or am I wrong? Jomtien Boathouse: I considered this one, as I have always enjoyed my stays at Residence Garden. How far away from the Police Station is this? Is it still on the Bahtbus Line? As Bahtbuses are concerned: Are they going 24h from SOPA to Jomtien? Price 10 Bt (except for Fishingtime, of course)? Gabor: I seem to remember a thread about less than a Year ago where you mentioned that you bought a Condo in Jomtien? Where? Where
  19. For my next PTY trip I want to stay a week or two in Jomtien, just to see if the area clicks to me, as I start to consider to buy a condo in PTY, and most Offers I see are located in Jomtien ..... Can anybody suggest a Hotel or Serviced Appartment in the 1000 - 1500 bt in Jomtien? Personal Experience, Webpages, Names of Jomtien based Hotels for further research ...... all welcome! Sunny
  20. Want to leave around Midday, located at Soi 11, anyone wants to share? Sunny
  21. Yes, it is right in front of your eyes- On the Top of the Page there is some personal greeting including your handle, with a link! Here is it anyway: http://www.freelancerbar.com/amform.htm Have fun! Sunny
  22. Toiletries, Socks, Underwear and the like can be bought everywhere ..... You don't need to search for them, they find you! What the Cell phone is concerned: Thailand has 220 Volts, the Sockets are usually good for european as well as american prongs, so don't worry. As long as the loader says 110 - 2240 V, you are on the safe side, forget the transformer! Just one thing: I guesst you are from the USA, SF_KNIGHT. Make sure your Cell phone is on the GSM System with either 900 or 1800 MHz, otherwise it won't work in LOS at all! That said, most GSM Systems in the States work on the 1900 Frequenc
  23. Pete, I ran into this getting logged off Problem as well, on my Laptop Computer. Did what you suggested, chenged the Date into yesterday, works now! But - DANGER!- I now seem to never need to log in again!!!!!!!!!???? I have bookmarked the Login Page, and with the ´wrong date it recognises me on the top of the Site, telling me my handle and no of PM's! I can go from there to index without putting Handle and PS in the appropriate fields, and I am back in the Member's ..... Funny thing will be only when this seemingly not-so-rare occuring habbit (Had the same in one of my 2 Desktop PCs at h
  24. Yes, you can, but ...... In case your ISP does not provide you with a Wbmail Interface (this is a Webpage where you can log in and read your mails as well as write new ones, you might find a hard time finding internet cafes who don't mind you setting up the Mail Programs like Outlook Express with your ISP Data. Some make it technicall impossible to change the setup, some do not install any Email Program, and some others just don't like it. (There might be some who don't care at all, though). Two big Problems stay that you have to take care of in case you find an Internet Cafe that lets you se
