I was reading alan lads offer to you guys of a free bar fine to anybody spending more than 5000 b and it got me thinking. so, if you guys really are looking for a free bar fine at a more affordable cost , then im prepared to offer FREE BARFINES to any single customer who spends more than 2000 b in any single session. very simple solution, to the high barfine scene , DONT PAY IT !. bars and clubs charging bar fines of 1000 b are ripping you off, big style. if nobody barfined a girl for a week in a gogo charging 1000 b all of his girls would leave, forcing the owner to bring down the barfine cost or close. same with the 600 b merchants. a girl is a girl is a girl , doesnt matter where she works, the barfine should be universal the exception being maybe a showgirl , but her rules should be ,cant barfine till after her show, then same price as everybody else. bar fines are well out of hand nowadays . id say 400b tops universally was a fair bar fine , doesnt matter if one girl looks better than another, they all negotiate there own price seperately anyway. to try and stay on topic , id say your 200 b offer isnt a bad offer, at least your trying to give the customer something, and more importantly, but unfortunately overlooked by most customers, your trying to give something to your staff too. more power to you.

rockinjerry, this might come as a surprise to you, but i have absolutely nothing against secrets. i sometimes drink in secrets and regularly speak with some of the mods like psp or soi7 . i quite like the bar, and the music and general atmosphere, its not my favourite place because the choice is huge but its alright , no complaints from me. where i have a problem with secrets (the board) not the hotel or bar or any of the owners or mods is with guys like heymarky above , who post about me or my bar , but have never even been there nor met me. to me that just makes him a sad individual, and hes not alone, there are several just like him. the term sucking up secrets arse is in relation to my above comment to heymarky, and i dont wish to post any of secrets secure area shit on here but if he denies it i will. so i ll repeat, i have nothing against secrets. lastly jerry, there is no point of me telling you on any board what my bar has to offer or why you might want to visit it, as you will understand that just leaves me open to suggestions of hype or to flaming from the trolls like heymarky. suffice to say its an ok bar, with everything you might need to enjoy an evening in pattaya. hope that wasnt to much hype for all you accusers out there.

heymarky, i know your a trusted level 3 member on secrets, ive seen some of your private thoughts on the secure area, your basically a grass, whos going from board to board reporting back to secrets and advising them on who should be banned or relegated to level 2 or refused entry to level 2. nothing hypothetical about it , if you like i ll post the private pms and threads between yourself and the secrets mods. you are a troll, and a grass, so therefor i think it is justified to say your sucking up secrets arse. have a nice day.

woah, woah , woah , lets get something straight, im not hyping my bar on the pattaya talk board. i dont think ive even named my bar on the pattaya talk board, unless in reply to somebody asking its name or location. the bar has not been reviewed on the site and i havent even described it. hardly what anybody could call a hype. the opening poster is a good friend of mine and probably well known to a lot of you. he is a mischievious bastard sometimes and i suspect this post is in connection with the ficticious review by john holmes jr, in which he states the food at the rockhouse is the worst in pattaya. something that i fully agree with as we dont sell food and have no kitchen. in relation to mirkwood, i dont know whats up your hump , i dont know you and your getting the wrong end of the stick. in relation to heymarky, or as hes better known shrek , well this guy follows me from board to board slagging off the rockhouse , funny that as hes never been there. his constant comment is about why does anybody stay there , its ONLY GOT 3 ROOMS, well mucker the rooms are constantly full , because they are 3 VERY NICE ROOMS. i dont pretend my bar /guesthouse is anything other than what it is , WHAT YOU NEED TO DO MATE IS GET OUT MORE, THERES MORE TO LIFE THAN SUCKING UP SECRETS HOTELS ARSE. lee, you stop getting me into trouble.

the rockhouse rooms are 850 b for one night, but stay one week get one night free, making it 728 b a night, stay one month get one week free, making it 645 b a night. all prices include water and electric and maid service, unlike many of our competition. yes marky, but the best 3 rooms in pattaya at the price.

i own a place along the road from the cock and bull, im told its quite nice inside , but if i was staying there or if i owned the place and a neighbouring bar kept upsetting me or my customers and was costing me money , then id need to do something about it. if after trying to talk with the offender and getting no joy, then id feel within my rights to make a complaint to the police. the law states music has to stop at 1 am in this area so anybody doing what you accuse the neighbour of doing is breaking the law. you could try violence, but your better off with the police.

shuggy, id be more inclined to rattle my beads than don an orange sash, but in reality i dont get involved in that side of it, though i am a big celtic fan if that helps. look forward to meeting you and having a beer or five. bigbudchugger, why would you want to come to my bar instead of any of the 3000 or so others. ? well id say you might want to come to it if you enjoyed a nicely fitted out indoor air conditioned bar that plays some of the best music in pattaya. who s prices are very reasonable being about 40 % less than most bars on walking st , and maybe even a few ladies to hold your attention. you might even want to stay in one of our luxury apartments, which are also great value for the money and hard to beat in pattaya on a similar price scale. so that might be the reasons that youd want to go to my bar as opposed to any of the 3000 or so others, though i recommend you try lots of bars to see the difference. or try www.the-rockhouse.com for a virtual look.

i reckon the best thai/chinese restaurant in pattaya is the leng kee, which is situated on pattaya klang at the corner of soi buakhou, open 24 hours a day, massive menu. can eat inside in aircon or outside al fresco. not expensive.

the mexican on the hill to jomtien is mikes mexican , its a lot better than tequila reef , but still not any good.

i think tequila reef is terrible , slow service and the food rubbish, its supposed to be mexican food, nothing mexican about it , cant even supply guacamole. to be honest, dont expect any of the restaurants in pattaya to serve up top nosh, some are pretty good but no top restaurants here unless you pay big money in the 5 star hotels.

guys the 1200 b fair is being charged from pattaya to the new airport. when you arrive at the airport the limo service guys are quoting 3000 b to pattaya, a real rip off, so say no. go to the private taxi stance a few hundred yards outside the arrivals terminal and get a private taxi for around 1200 b.

ive lived in pattaya about 4 years, and in that time i have seen an increase in crime in and around the pattaya area. the serious gun crimes tend to be 99% thai on thai , and usually dont happen within the entertainment areas of pattaya , more often than not they happen in sub districts of pattaya that are typical thai villages. the biggest increase is in bag snatching, gold snatching and pickpocketing , so as a previous poster said, dont advertise your wealth and keep your wits about you and you will be fine. other crimes such as housebreaking and car thefts happen much less here than in the states or in the uk . the best advice i can ever give to any farang either living in or holidaying in thailand , is not to antagonise the thai people. treat them with respect and you will be perfectly ok. i come fron glasgow in scotland, and in general i feel safer here than i do there , its not as bad out here as the media might lead you to believe. lastly , yes it is possible for a farang to own a gun out here both by legal means and by illegal means , by that i mean you can apply for a gun licence at banglamung registry office , but you need to fit a strict criteria in order to have a permit issued. very few circumstances allow you to carry your gun on your person , and would normally require you to hold your gun in a locked container at home seperate from your amunition . illegal guns can be bought on the black market, but the penalties for possessing one outweighs any need for buying one in my opinion.

the celtic bar is in soi leng kee , and not soi chaiapoon , though the directions where correct. it is owned by a scotsman, john mc carthy, from motherwell , lifelong celtic fan and is home to the pattaya hoops no 1 celtic supporters club. we have around 70 members. the club is an officially offiliated club sanctioned by the celtic supporters association. being a lifelong celtic fan myself , i am a member of the club and often frequent the bar. hail hail.

thanks for the welcome george and the kind words. in as far as my bar goes, once i find out the approptiate area on the board to post about business , i will simply give name, location and general description and invite your members to do any reviews , as ive learned in the past that no matter how good the intention of giving a write up on your own place, it only leaves you open to attack from those of a suspicious disposition.

thanks for the reply, no touting my business is not the only reason ive come on here . i do enjoy the other boards im a member of and am a regular contributor on these other boards . i notice many of the members online are members of the other boards that i use so will know about me already. i am often to be seen on other boards , giving my strong opinions on everything pattaya .i am also well aware of all the sharks waiting out there to pounce on someone who the percieve to be blatantly advertising. i hope through the board people will find out about my business , but im not here to blatantly flaunt it. im here for the information and the entertainment, and if i can make a few friends along the way and gain a few customers i ll be a happy bunny.

pattaya starts to get busier in november and usually gets quiet again at the end of march , but in reality the only time you can really call high season in pattaya is the 6 week period from mid december until the end of january. you will find it very difficult to find accomodation during that period unless youve booked in advance. other than that, you should be able to find accomodation pretty easily for the rest of the year.

hello everybody, i am mulphy . i have only registerd on this board today, so dont have any experience on this board, though i do post on a couple of other pattaya related boards. i am an ex pat, having lived in pattaya for around 4 years now. i own a bar and guesthouse , and enjoy the whole pattaya scene. i would of course like to introduce my bar and guesthouse onto this board but dont want to step on anybodys toes by doing anything wrong. so what is the correct procedure for doing this without causing any offence. if this message board is half as informative and entertaining as the others i use, then im sure i will enjoy it here. thank you .
