  1. Hi I stayed there March 2007. Room was fine if slightly smaller than your average Bangkok hotel. When I first arrived I was offered a twin bed room. When I stood firm on having the pre booked large double bed room, they found the room. My dislikes was that the room was dark (This was caused by the brickwork of the building built extremely close close to the windows of the hotel). The windows were fixed so could not be opened. The swimming pool was fine but awkward to get to with steep steps. It did get clear sunshine (Some hotel pools are predominantly in the shade due to the he
  2. I stayed a month in June/July. I visited the PBG many times day and evening. Great atmosphere, staff and service. The food was great and I never experienced any smells (Although I usually sat in the outdoor areas)I was disappointed at the lack of freelancers but I realise it takes time. The video screens were great and I never found the music loud. Great place for taking a BF or girlfriend. Ladies treated very well by staff and staff also chatty when you are alone. A great place to chill out and watch the sun go down. Also a great place to go before and after going to the bars/gogos for a brea
  3. I used them again in June and july 08 for return trip. Paid 1100 baht each way. Driver queried return price but confirmed it on the phone. Again the driver and the car were fine, but yet again no beer offered as occurred on previous use in Feb/march. Emailed them as beer promised on this booking. No response so far. I know this is a minor point, but I am giving feedback to the board. The drivers arrived early on all occasions and were smartly dressed and drove well.
  4. Booked promotion flights for Feb June and Nov 07 for £460 early this year with No FF miles Have been keeping an eye on flights from the uk for early next year and prices were rising. Booked Gulf Air for £496 in Feb/March 09 with 1 stop. Eva air have just come up with periods this year and next year £530 In view of fuel rises, these prices seem good. I`m gutted They also seem to accrue Frequent flyer miles. Just for BM`s information
  5. Thanks for the clear explanation. I really think its a great concept and sure to take off. It will just take time to get known.By the sound of it, the place has had a good start. Your promotions sound excellent. I wish you the very best and hope BM`s continue to give you feedback that helps in it`s success. I am over next month and look forward to popping in regularly.
  6. I have posted a similar experience regarding Mr Toom (I think Mr T is a seperate operation). My experience was not as bad. The car was poor and no air con. I tried pattaya Limo on my last trip and they were great.2200Bht return including free beer.
  7. Hi Sorry for the late reply. Have been a bit busy The company is Thelimopattaya. This is the link to the car and beer stuff http://www.thelimopattaya.com/index.php?la...e&Id=470026 So far so good.Hope the return trip is as good.
  8. I have used Mr Toom several times but was unhappy on my return trip in December 07. The car was borrowed? and aircon naff. I emailed Mr Toom but got no reply. I came back to Pattaya this week and used another company I think called Pattaya Limo. They were on time, in a new Toyota car and provided free cold beer. The price was the same as Mr Toom 2200 return. Hope this helps
  9. Sorry. I forgot to say it is way way cheaper to get and use a local thai sim card rather than use your UK one.
  10. Hi If it is an unlocked phone that can be used on any network, it will work in Thailand. You can buy a pay as you go Sim card locally very cheaply and use it. When you buy the simcard, the person selling it will usually set up the credit on the phone for you if you ask politley.
  11. I used qatar in Nov/Dec for the first time. I would aggree they are a poor carrier. The cabin service was poor. The long connection on outward flight (Doha) was a misery (no proper food/refreshment). Do not even consider the offered refreshment voucher . This is redeemed at what looked like a school dinner servery hidden at the back of the airport with constant cues of 100+ indian/asian passengers herded along a slow servery. Doha is a new looking airport under development, with limited services unable to service the high number of transit passengers. Hope this is of some use. Still

  13. Sorry for my useless maths in last post regarding quidco £125 +£41 + odds and sods = £147
  14. Hope this helps. Booked eva air LHR to Bkk Mid November to Mid December. Searched all around. Got best price of £463 through ebookers. There is no charge for using credit cards. Westeast offered the same for £467 with additional 2% for credit card. There are no mileage allowable on evergreen program. I used airline network for eva air for march but they also charge an extra £5 for airline failure insurance and credit card charge. I am currently querying this charge with eva air as airline network say this charge is imposed on them by eva air? It seems eva air is so far offering the most com
  15. Excellent idea and photos. It`s one of things it`s nice to have seen prior to checking out accomodation. It`s amazing how tiny some of these supposed swimming pools are. Well done and thanks for the effort in putting them in one place. Maybe a moderator could make a fixed link for all BM`s to view or ad detail to.
  16. I had a bike towed in November. Arrived at Police station and Fines are shown clearly in English at counter. I took advice of forum by just smiling and paying. Saw plenty of people arguing pointlessly. The result was the police were helpful in giving directions to site where bike was. I spoke to the two falang police volounteers who also helped with directions. They did not however give me a guide price for bike taxi(Seemed an obvious question, but maybe they are under pressure not to help in this regard). I took bike taxi outside without asking for fare price. Arrived at bike pound, which
  17. Had a look at this place a week before opening. It opened 1st December. I looked at one of the completed rooms and it was very smart. It was very upmarket. I have attatched a link to the website. The place is between second and third road. May be of interest to you. It was too expensive for me. http://www.villapanalee.com/
  18. Hi Just found travelocity offering the same deal but without the extra charges. Worth checking.
  19. I booked 29th Feb to 28th March LHR BKK. If anyone books the same flight perhaps we can share a cab (I use Mr Toom). My flight cost totalled £461 after adding the costs I mentioned earlier.
  20. Yes They have dates on their calender for outbound and inbound flights that you have to play with. The strange thing I noticed is you can`t book for 30 days. 29 days seems to be the max. I am flexible on dates but found that each time I changed the outbound dates, the return date options changed. This is just for everones info. Hope it helps someone.
  21. Hi All Just found a good deal for direct flights from Heathrow to Bangkok. Shows flights up to March 08 for £449 but there is an additional £5 charge for airport failure insurance and credit card charge. Still a great deal on direct flights. I found these prices on airline network. See link below http://www.airline-network.co.uk/specialOf...27-c6d76a45d193
  22. I got a phone call yesterday confirming additional 10kg allowance for my sports kit. This is provided on an individual basis after they received my email request. Just for BM`s information.
  23. Thanks for all your replies. CheshireTom, I was able to confirm today what you said is correct. I think it is a bit is a little decieving that this offer of extra baggage allowance is made by Qatar airways on recorded messages on the phone and website but no mention of conditions are made. I am just glad I didn`t turn up and get hit with a large excess baggage bill. Also be aware that there is no automatic allowance for sports kit. I always take scuba kit and have never had problems with other carriers (Usually a phone call is ok). With Qatar you have to apply. I await their decis
  24. After reading on this forum I joined Qatar airways frequent flyer program as a benefit for joining was an additional 10kg allowance. I booked my flights giving my member number, but the e ticket only shows standard 20KG allowance. I have emailed qatar airways several times with no reply. I called a uk qatar office and the guy said it only applied after the first return flight? Can any privilege member confirm this benefit is on first flight. Thanks
  25. Hi Does this place have a website please. I tried google. Nothing
