Ive always found it safer than the uk. The skytrain is a lot safer than uk tube stations or railway stations. But if you walk about with loads of jewellery and a big fat wallet sticking out your back pocket in any city worldwide, you are at risk of robbery. Im sure you dont.

Im concerned about taking them back to a condo instead of a hotel. If nobody else knows shes there, she could do anything while your asleep. I will probably stick to S/T if I rent a condo or just pay the extra for a hotel, but its a lot more expensive to do that in Bkk. Or make sure its a condo that takes their id card.

Although Thai businesses have extra rules for foreigners, its probably still less than than the laws and workers rights involved in running a uk business. Holiday pay, maternity leave , paternity leave , health and safety, tax credits and it can be almost impossible to sack them if they manipulate their rights. Even a small business is best to keep an employment/health and safety expert on a mothly retainer to keep abreast of all the shit coming out of europe. I sold my business because of it. I felt that I was working for the emloyees, rather than they were working for me. Rant over.

Motorbike hire seems a cheap business to get off the ground and relatively hassle free and I dont think the BIB hit them for tea money. I dont think you need to bother with pesky things like insurance that you would need in the west

Ive got a one 2 call thai sim. It still works in the uk. I think its the T mobile network it switches to in the uk. Last time I went to thailand my uk orange phone didnt even work and customer service was completely uninterested. If your sim doesnt work Id recommend the one 2 call network. Hope it works out.

Does it not switch to another network if you switch it on in the uk? Try texting it from a uk phone using 0066 or +66 and missing out the 1st 0.

I guess using a phone is reliable enough to read emails etc, but is it ok to play poker online or does it disconnect all the time? Its a pisser if youve waited a while for a good hand and it disconnects in the middle of it.

Thats not true. Ive had local info from him online before. And most of my knowledge of owning a bar comes from Mulphys posts. Hes the most open barowner on the forums. He has posted what the bar cost, the overall profits and profit from each drink or barfine etc. Priceless info for anyone thinking of buying a bar and interesting for anyone into business. He wouldnt be so open if he had anything to hide, would he? Promoting your business at every oppotunity is what a good businessman does. Following someone round the forums abusing their business is what a sad person does. Your making yourself look bad.

Thats what I thought too, but when I phoned them to take it away, the guy on the phone said it sounded like the backlight. Hopefully its a techy word for backlight

Just got my laptop back from the repair shop. The screen was sometimes blacking out when I adjusted the angle and even done it a couple of times without touching it. The repeir note says they replaced the lcd inverter. Does that sound like they done the right thing. It will take me a while to find out by using it because it was only an intermittent fault, but want to know now because the guarantee runs out in a few weeks. Thanks.
