I see Service Pack 3 when I do same.

I've just had an unsolicited e-mail from specials@123greetings.biz offering this program to get on line TV from around the world onto my PC. Has anybody heard of it or used it? Safe? Good? The link is http://www.trek-marketing.com/pctv/?id_link=9&a=pctv99. Opinions please. Nb. I'm using TOT 1024 Mbps ADSL dial up connection. Is that quick enough to watch TV programs?

What's the difference between unlawful and illegal? Unlawful is actually "against the law"...... Illegal is.............. a sick bird!

Condo for rent in Jomtien Beach 8500 baht per month
4niceight replied to ericg1953's topic in The Market
TESTIMONY. Regarding this condo offered for rent by Eric G. Last year I posted a question on this forum asking which condo blocks were good and which should I avoid, as I was intending to relocate to Thailand from The Gambia, West Africa, where I had been living for 4 years. Eric replied to me and suggested that when I came to Pattaya I should call him and we'd meet up to discuss. I came last March for a 4 week stay, and Eric showed me the condo in question, which was at that time occupied. The tenant was about to relocate to the Middle East and I contracted with Eric to rent the condo from May 1st. for one year (subsequently extended for two months). I came back again and stayed from June to November, when I had to return to Gambia to sell up, and returned in March this year. On my return I bought a condo in the same complex and am currently having it completely renovated to my taste. The renovation should be complete by the end of this month and I shall then move out of this condo. Hence it is now offered for rent. The complex at Jomtien Beach Condominium is exactly as Eric initially told me i.e. very well managed, clean, lots of facilities, and on the baht bus route. The condo itself is very well appointed, there are no problematic neighbours, and I have been very happy here. In fact I would have liked to have bought the condo but I found one with a fantastic sea view. The condo has NO problems, and I would recommend it 1000%. I have met many new friends here in the various cafes/bars on site, and most people who live here seem to be more mature and decent than a lot of places in the Pattaya area. In all my dealings with Eric I have had only good experiences. What he says is the truth, no bullshit, and he has been very helpful to me in helping me to settle into a new life. I am confident that whoever decides to rent this condo will have no regrets. Incidentally I use air con quite a lot and my monthly electric bills are generally around the 750 baht mark. There is 1024 Mbps ADSL internet in the condo costing 590 baht per month but that cost is currently shared with the tenant next door who has bought a router. I hope that this testimony will be of use to any prospective new tenant. Please feel free to PM me with any questions you may have. -
In about two weeks time I'll be ready to furnish my newly renovated condo. I've been looking at options for beds, wardrobes, TV units, etc., and have been to Index, SB, Kanyong, and the odd smaller open fronted store. Before I make final decisions, I would like to know if there are any stores that I should explore which would have "sets" of matching bedroom and living room furniture, similar to Index in quality and price. I live in Jomtien and I haven't ventured up Pattaya Nua. Anything there or anywhere else that I should go to?

In my experience, ED drugs are available at almost every pharmacy. At least, I've only ever been into one that didn't supply, and that surprised me at the time. As far as medical help is concerned, Pattaya has some fine hospitals, and there are many walk-in doctor's surgeries/offices/clinics. So stop worrying, Pattaya has just about everything you'll need.

central pattaya road hotel

I think you mean the Queen Pattaya Hotel. No idea what it's like, though. -
Qatar are good. Free drink, Seatback IFE, good food (normally), and as Jacko points out, your departure time from UK is critical to ensure you make the connection, although I have experienced the flight from Doha being held around an hour for late arriving passengers from another flight. Beware of overweight. They charge 35GBP per kilo UK to BKK.

I've just tried to access the bank's foreign exchange rate page and there is a notice that the contents have been removed, and to visit their webpage www.scb.co.th to view the updated version. Having clicked on the link I am getting their website but cannot find the page showing their exchange rates. Am I missing something. Does anyone have info on how to access their rates now?

Cheshire Tom... Yes, of course you're right and I was wrong. I understand that completely. What I was trying to do was to warn other BMs about possibly misunderstanding Qatar Airways rules thus costing them money. I was unaware of the previous thread which you referred to. Soi Unwise... I had occasion to comment once before on one of your ignorant posts. At that time I looked through all your posts on this forum. I discovered that you have contributed almost FUCK ALL to this forum since you joined, except snide ignorant comments. Why don't you do us all a favour and FUCK OFF. There are some really helpful guys here and you certainly aren't amongst them.

I have just relocated from The Gambia, West Africa, where I have been living for the last 4 years, and travelled via Manchester to BKK. As you can probably imagine I had plenty of luggage. I flew with Brussels Airline from Banjul to Manchester and got a massive 46 kilo allowance. From Manchester I decided to go with Qatar because not only was it cheaper but I joined their Privilege Club on line, and their website told me I got an extra 10 kilos allowance being a member of their lowest level, Burgundy. So when I got to the check in desk with a suitcase weighing 30 kilos, I smugly thought that all I had to do was to present my Privilege card. Oh NO!!! The card which they issue you upon joining is only a "Temporary" card, and you don't reach Burgundy status until you've gained 50 points. (Manchester to BKK gets you 40 points). Consequently I was 10 kilo over the limit at 35.35 GBP per kilo. You can imagine my reaction!! However, I kept my cool and argued my case, all to little avail. I was overweight and as far as the check in girl was concerned I was paying. A little more debate from me and she called the Qatar rep over. He reduced my liability to 4 kilos, and I had to pay 141GBP. Just a warning to anyone thinking of joining their Privilege club with the intention of getting an extra weight allowance. I suppose that you don't get "owt for nowt", and I should have known better, but I feel as though I was misled. Having said that, the flights were good and on time, and I'm now a little bit nearer to getting the extra allowance.

Try www.silversandvilla.com...nice hotel, girl friendly, no extra cost for girl, two pools, and depending on the time of year and length of stay, 700 to 1000 per night. Adjacent to the beer bars of soi Whitehouse, many restaurants, and on the baht bus route.

Thanks for the replies, gents. I currently have an Elsafe S series, similar to the largest in the photos,(bottom right), although I'm selling it before I relocate from The Gambia to Jomtien. As Eneukman says, there is a spare "key" with it just in case the battery fails, but after 4 years of constant use I haven't yet had occasion to resort to using it. Elsafe is a very good product IMO. I'll be looking for similar when I arrive, although I'm told here that the S series is no longer available. Maybe that's just in Africa though.

I will be retiring to Jomtien early next month and want to buy an electronic keypad type room safe of the type that can be bolted to the floor or a wall. Does anybody have one to sell, or know of a shop where I might be able to purchase one similar to the Elsafe brand pictures attached?

Many thanks, PC800. I guess it's Mr. Toom again for me. -
Can anyone please confirm the current last departure from Suvarnabhumi of the yellow 999 bus to Jomtien. I seem to remember that it was 19:30, but I'm not sure. Critical for me as I shall be arriving ex Qatar at 17:50. in 4 weeks time. Will have to book Mr Toom if it's not 19:30.

Last August, on recommendation, I stayed for three nights at the Silver Reef hotel, which is quite close to the bus station, and convenient enough for bars and the town centre. I'm sure it's girl friendly although I didn't try. Cost is 750 per night according to their website...www.silverreefudon.com...They will pick you up from the airport if necessary. I had a very pleasant stay there. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Aircon and satellite tv. Hope this helps.

I booked a one way ticket from BKK to LHR in November on line with Kuwait and it cost 13,285 baht. That hit my credit card at 192 pounds. I joined their frequent flyers club (Oasis) on line and at BKK I was upgraded to Business Class as far as Kuwait. OK, no alcohol all the way to LHR but that was no prob. I was able to get some sleep on the first leg which I normally find impossible. The bad reviews I have read were unfounded. Not the best airline but good enough at the price. Kuwait airport only average.

Villa Market...ad on ThaiVisa..."the original supermarket since 1974". Joekicker, it sounds from the tone of your posts that you're trying to flame me. If so, get your facts straight. If not, thanks for your contribution. I wanted to know WHAT BMs thought was good about Villa Market that I couldn't see, and perhaps I've a little better insight now, especially regarding items that one cannot get at Big C, or other supermarkets. However, I found that the shopping experience there wasn't as pleasant as Big C and Festival Centre, and the prices I compared were higher. My opinion only!

Some friends have told me that Villa Market is great particularly the cooked meat section. Having visited there expecting something special, I am now wondering what all the fuss is about. For me Big C beats it hands down. Anybody think differently, and why?
