Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

www.expatshield.com edit.....I just tried that website myself but it won't connect. I have it installed but think I used another vpn to install it. Sorry!
-
A friend of mine (ahem!) has been using Expat Shield VPN but today he cannot connect. He's tried www. downforeveryoneorjustme.com and it seems that the website is up. Can anybody else connect to this website or is it in fact "just me"? He's tried www.anchorfree.com, www.expatshield.com, and www.hotspotshield.com and cannot connect to any of them. Any ideas of what he can do to fix the problem?

Judging by the writing on the mirrors in the gogos on soi Post Office it was an epidemic there ten years ago.

Transport from Bangkok- Airport - Jomtien
4niceight replied to Gonzo's topic in Transport in Thailand
Not especially unsafe. Depends, of course, on the driver. However, if I were to be involved in an accident, I'd rather have something substantial around me. -
From Dolphin roundabout go up Naklua Road about 300 yards. On the right hand side is BP Clinic. 350 baht a shot.

Maybe the safest though.?? -
Perhaps the BMs who can't access the link are using AdBlock Plus. Disable it for PDN and you should be able to view.

It seems that a lot of folks don't seem to trust the stated alcohol content (5.5% I think) as displayed on the bottle. People say that it can vary wildly from bottle to bottle or keg to keg. I've been in a few a go-gos where the cheapest option is draught beer Chang and quite like the taste, but I've been hesitant to drink more than a couple of jars. I would like to believe that the manufacturers aren't complete idiots and have some kind of handle on their product. Does anyone know the truth? Can it be the loopy juice that is claimed or is it just hearsay?

Gonzo.... Methinks you are so bored that you must get involved with this thread. Not because you have any interest in the unit but because you want to belittle the OP's attempt to sell his unit. How do you know that the businesses in Jomtien Beach Condominium aren't making money? I know of several that are making money, not fortunes for sure, but then nobody is making fortunes in Pattaya as a whole. To come on a forum like this and profess to know that the OP's price is too high is just pure nastiness. Give the guy a chance. He is a good, honest, guy who tries very hard to make a crust and des

I can't believe the bitch who screamed in glee a second before Blatter said the word "Russia". Was she Russian? Did she know the result already? Seems to me that whoever had won the nomination she would have screamed with joy. Stupid bitch. I don't give two hoots where the competition is held, spare me all this nonsense.

Hi Rocky, I've just been doing some research on this very subject because I wanted to change from my current insurer. I suppose it depends on your age as to what is best for you. I am 63 and found what appears to be a good policy through a French company called April Mobilite (you'll find them on the internet. Google April Mobilite Asia Expat.). It was recommended by a broker in UK through contact I had made on the internet. Very competitive premiums. I had him send me a pdf file and it looked good. I then thought that I would go to my broker who had set up my present policy to s

I think you'll find that if your plane lands on time you'll have plenty of time to get that bus.

Some good points there!

My bet would be that 606 is about as cheap as you're going to get especially flying from a local airport. Even if you get a cheaper flight you'd have to add in the cost of getting to a different airport. As long as the transit time in Dubai isn't too long I'd go for it.

Agree about the bacon. Went in yesterday morning for the first time and had the 100 baht breakfast. All good apart from the bacon which was a greasy mess. Probably the worst bacon I've had in Pattaya. However, decent value for money. Greg...sort your bacon out and you'll get more customers, me included.

What music would you like to hear?
4niceight replied to davethailand's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Seems to me that you'll get so many diverse answers to your question, as already shown. Unless you get 100 replies with 50% for one type of music you'll never know what to play to get the best audience. My suggestion based upon my own likes and the age of the clientele you're likely going to attract, would be Tamla Motown. Huge selection of tunes there and very easy to listen to. -
I've just returned from Timbo's after sampling the roast lamb dinner. Consisted of almost half a plateful of roast lamb, 4 roast potatoes, brocolli, carrots, a slice of pumpkin, mint sauce and a boat full of delicious gravy. All perfectly cooked and so tasty. Cost 285 baht. Well worth a visit. I believe that the roast lamb special is available on alternate Sundays only.

I guess I was quite lucky with my Thai Motorbike licence. I have never held a UK bike licence and have only ever ridden a bike once in my life. When leaving UK to live in Thailand I read all the relevant posts and went to get myself an International Driving Permit from the Post Office in Manchester based on my car licence. Armed with that, which had no mention of bike, and all the other relevant paperwork I went to the Pattaya office to apply for a car AND a bike licence. Only had to take the indoor colour and depth perception tests and was issued with both a car and a bike licence. Since then

Every time I think about Pakistan I relate it to cheating, lying and dishonesty. I used to live in an English town with a huge Paki and Bangladeshi community and used to work in a massive used car sales showroom. Whenever a guy who looked like he might be of south asian descent came in the salesmen always used to make themselves scarce. They knew that they could never make a sale because there was never any honesty coming from the customer. Just a waste of time. Having said that, it was a little refreshing to see on BBC news Pakistani men jeering at their own country's cricketers on their co

I'm no expert but I believe that 8% return on a condo is about what renters look for. I don't know if that would apply to other types of property, but, hell, 10% in this day and age is surely a good return....if it's likely to last a while.
