  1. Well I'm under no illusions about the Europa League because it's basically the European Subsidiary Cup these days but nevertheless, it's another trophy that United haven't won before and most importantly it brings us Champions League football next season which was so vital for us. We'll now have five English teams in the competition next season which must be a first? I must admit that up until the semi finals I didn't share Mourinho's belief that we'd win it and that that would be our way in to the Champions League because he had decided a long time ago we weren't good enough to finish in the top four of the Premiership. This was such a gamble and if we'd have lost last night then our season would have been another failure and I wonder what position that would have put Mourinho in going forward but now that we have won it it changes everything - if you'd have said at the start of the season we'd win the League Cup and the Europa League I think all United fans would have settled for that. I think that Mourinho's gamble has shown what an absolute genius and class manager he is and now we can look forward to the next part of his reign, he's obviously going to bring in new players in the summer and everything is looking positive for us right now. After the terrorist atrocity in Machester earlier this week it was great to see United win it for that reason too. Well done to all the players and staff at Manchester United, now let's concentrate on getting back to where we belong.
  2. Two weeks ago I finally finished Tolstoy's magnum opus - the epic War and Peace. Its plot is mainly concerned with Napoleon's war against Russia at the beginning of the 19th century and two aristocratic Russian families. It's a fantastic novel. At nearly a thousand pages of small print many might think this novel is superfluous in places but it isn't - such is the quality of Tolstoy's writing he can make even the most uneventful chapters interesting. With over five hundred characters in this novel I sometimes had to pause and remind myself who some of the less involved characters were but with the main characters I felt that I knew them so well by the latter stages of the novel it was almost as if I could feel their emotions - such is the brilliance of Tolstoy's writing. No wonder this is considered one of the greatest books ever written. I highly recommend it. Lots of people may be put off reading a book of this magnitude just like I used to be but now I see reading a book this long the same as reading three novels consecutively and when you look at it that way it makes it easier to accomplish. The thing that I like about Tolstoy and his Russian counterpart Dostoyevsky is that their novels deal at length with philosophical subjects and in this case, Tolstoy's unique philosophy on history and how it is created. I've had this novel for years so I'm proud to finally have read it because I think it's a novel everybody should read in their life.
  3. Finally left the LOS for England. It's been emotional. I can't live here any longer.

  4. After reading several threads over the years on Pattaya punter forums that spoke so positively about Dr Warin on Central Pattaya Road I finally decided to get some much needed dental work. His clinic can be found on the same side of the road as the Leng Kee restaurant and the Legends pool and snooker hall. It's between Soi Bhukhao and the Pattaya Third Road and it's called the Dental Care Center. I had crowns fitted on my two front teeth and all my teeth scaled. I also had moulds made for my teeth so that I can whiten them at home. All of this came to approximately £470 which was about three times cheaper than what I had been quoted in England. Three months on and I am very pleased with the work that he did. He is a friendly person and obviously a skilled dentist which I highly recommend. He is very much in demand and the earliest appointment I could get was three weeks after I wanted one so if you're only in Pattaya for a short holiday and need some extensive work done then you'll probably have to book ahead and get the work completed the next time you're in town.
  5. My team just don't want it enough and all these draws will be our downfall and cost us a top four finish. We play better football under Mourinho but we still have the same problem we had under Van Gaal which is that we don't score enough goals. Looking at the remaining last nine fixtures I can't see United finishing in the top four if I'm honest and our only salvation looks like winning the European Subsidiary Cup in order to qualify. And if we don't qualify for the Champions League? Well, the club will spend another 200 million on players in the summer and keep throwing money at it until we start to win things again. I can't wait. Soon the whole squad will be comprised of overpaid, under achieving prima donnas that couldn't give a fuck what they win as long as they get paid the obscene amounts of money each week. I'm becoming increasingly disillusioned with the state of football in England with every year that passes.
