Who do you care for and support in your relationship
joekicker replied to Dr Mick's topic in Expat Issues
What's left of the Mamas and the Papas can take care of themselves. But before the group was formed, I did give Denny Doherty a bed for a night. -
A good collection of Internet and BBS taglines, but I'm quite sure Larry didn't think them all up, as some are older than him. There are some that are new to me, and some older than ... hell, older than MM.

I'll give you eigh... no 14 Michael Jacksons for one Farrah Fawcett, who also died, just hours before the whacko one, of cancer. Shame the weirdo will get all the publicity. He's an unpleasant kind of person, utterly selfish with no community responsibility at all. And he sure couldn't pose in Playboy when he was 50. Michael Jackson is proof that America is the greatest country on Earth, the land of opportunity, the only country where a poor black boy could grow up to become a rich, white woman.

Is it just me that thinks you ought to just "man up" and move on? Is it really such a big deal to "learn" that some language isn't allowed, and you got dinged for it? C'mon LTGTR, NOTHING good is going to happen if you just keep doing this over and over. It really is just hitting your head against the wall, and it really won't feel great when you quit, either way. But you should quit anyhow. I'm out of this thread now, go where you want. Up to you, but don't make it som nam na. -

You seem to have the answer figured out. I'm just curious if you are offering professional help along with your professional psychiatric evaluation. Was it my mum, do you think? -
ESPN to air live Premier League matches in Britain
joekicker replied to bigdelta's topic in Idle Chit Chat
ESPN has been "involved" since the last century. But that other big American company Sky Sports is more "involved" I think. Doesn't seem to have hurt English football, or set back English chances at the World Cup so anyone would notice. New York Yankees don't seem to have been held back all that much since tying up with Man U, come to that. -
I've been here a lot longer than 2006. You have Thai TV, right? Newspapers, magazines, that sort of thing? Maybe its time to give this new Internet thingmy a try. Some folks say you can use it to find out stuff. GIYF.

"A farang women". I'll take that as singular??? If you meant plural, correct me. Don't you have any opinion about it that might be interesting and doesn't make you look like a stalker? For example: Why do you think that a strong opinion that this woman is a manipulative and unpleasant bitxh is going "off the deep end"? Also: You seem strangely attracted to this thieving and selfish bit of unpleasantness with breasts. Are you? -

I think Pattaya Pages should close down and then reopen as Moderators Central. It's a lot more important than shagging and gossiping and Pattaya, that's for sure. You want a warning? Here's a warning. The reason I do exactly *_one_* Pattaya board is that it doesn't have this phuocking personal victimisation bullspit which is the chief feature of the Pattaya boards I used to look at. No one got fined, no one got stopped, no one got barred, no one got promoted, no one got paid, no one proved a gahdam thing. Someone got caught breaking a rule. And? Move on ferkrighsake. If it's so horrible, move on elsewhere. There are 844,582,965 forums you haven't even looked at yet. But move on. -
GIYF. How was your long trip? There must be you and one other guy somewhere who's not heard of her, seen her and heard her.

Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule

You've had Boeing stock for more than 70 years? -
Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule

This is becoming the Duke Nukem Forever of airplanes. And here's the horrible kicker: Duke Nukem's developer 3D Realms has very recently shut down. Of course Boeing is in a GREAT position to survive. Right? -

BigD reported that these lofty, truth-seeking people went to the police station, where they implored the corrupt constabulary to seek the real facts, and of course the incompetent clowns did no such thing because... well, you know. Now you're saying they made this appeal in the bar? And the press reported they made their appeal back in Australia? Do Australians play this trick a lot? When I'm in Australia, I never hear of such a "joke" as making your friends appear to be thieves and shoplifters. I'm glad you lot never played it on me. Do you put fake bombs in people's suitcases and airline carry-ons too? How common is this game? In spirit only? I guess in Brisbane there's been a whole new book and genre of Victoria jokes, though. -
ESPN to air live Premier League matches in Britain
joekicker replied to bigdelta's topic in Idle Chit Chat
ESPN did the broadcasts to Thailand for several years and were very good. They still do them to much of the region, although in Thailand the local pay-TV company bought the rights from under them. -
Maybe. Define "try". If you like to plan things so much, why not pay in advance? .
-
And after you bought the groceries, you would put them where? Shame the way the press and the auto press have all missed this exciting motoring development. It's a double shame that Volkswagen Shanghai missed it in their own Full Line Press Kits. It's as if someone were trying to have you on.
-
And yet... you do know the other times I was wrong, do you? Newbie? Don't get me wrong, I totally believe you DO know.
-
Wow. A "Newbie" who knows all the goings-on on the board AND what everyone thinks. Some might think you've been here before under a different name but without a tiny change in style.

Supposedly, the fact the equipment is made of composite material is a major cause of worry. Supposedly. I'll reveal that my own personal feeling is that this is another Boeing-Airbus bore on a wider scale than Pat Pages, but I only get one vote like everyone else. And I have no hidden motives for all of this - I am actually curious about the perceptions - assuming there are any at all. My favourite jetliner to travel in is the one that gets me there the fastest, although some of those old under-powered Russian ones had me white-knuckling it sometimes, the Ilyushins most especially, and thank goodness you hardly get to fly those any more.
-
Jeh. Okay, another "not concerned about the fin". This could be building into a trend.
-
Yeah, in all my times using Listerine, three or four days in my life, I never had a mosquito bite me on the gum or tongue.
-
I don't know if it's an issue, really. BUT as folks point out below, there are stories and a grazillion Internet forums about how they found the vertical stabiliser of the Air France jet and it's become a prime suspect in the reason for the crash, and then there was New York, etc. Now, to me, that will all play out and the various airline boards will probably eventually decide what caused that Brazil flight to (it now seems) break apart and go down. But there's a bit of a popular tide that links New York and the Brazil planes, and brings up other cases traced to the fin. Again, I'm not so determined to get to the bottom of the facts for the purposes of this thread, just wondering if people are sucking up this stuff and worrying. I am ALSO damned interested in the true facts, but not in this thread.

I call Bullship and Horsepuckey. Taxes most certainly do not change "every Wednesday" anywhere in the world.
-
I didn't make a case. I probably could, either way, but have no reason or desire to do it. People who know much more than me are making the case very intelligently. But numbers don't mean a thing, as the flu is proving. It's perception about the unknown - those TWO things will bring you down faster an an air-to-air missile. So my QUESTION is whether there is such a perception. So, I'll put you in the "not a problem, who cares?" column. That's what I want, is a sense of what people think about it. If there's a debate here, fine. If not, fine. I don't count Airbus as a vote. Airbus being confident about Airbus... a dog just bit a man. I'd sure sit up if Airbus said, "Hmmm, yeah, we're not too confident about our composite fins." Until that day, they don't get a vote. They get a SAY, because they're experts, but only a say because experts are frequently wrong, as the author of Why Buildings Fall Down noted so very well. Experts can make airplanes that fall down. The question isn't whether they did make an Airbus that falls down. IRONY ALERT Experts will tell us that. Or simply time. I doubt anyone in here knows, but certainly not more than two. The question *_is_* whether the public perceives Airbus made planes that might fall down, which is a far different question. Very VERY safe things like the DC10 aircraft become victims and die of public/corporate perception.
