  1. Tims is still there, was in a couple of nights ago, the back bar they have a hugh screen, almost like an auditorium, they have also extended the pool room which now has about 12 tables. I don't know how they set the room up for sporting events but would think they do a good job, everything else there seems to run pretty well......... except the gogo girls who are a bit well fed. Cheers
  2. Sandy Springs Soi 13, Bella Villa Soi 4 both have standard baths in them. Flipper room I had on Soi 7 had a triangle bath which would comfortably fit 2, that was their suite room from memory......... not really a suite just a bigger corner room. Also if you want complete sex type environment, Penthouse Hotel has some rooms with Jacuzzi's in them, mirrors, swings the whole bit........ It's not really my style of hotel but maybe it works for you, they have a website if your interested. Cheers
  3. I just stayed at Bella Villa Prima in Soi 4, they have (currently free) wireless broadband access which worked really well, as I had to do some work I needed a hotel with Broadband and I was very happy with it. The only down side is Soi 4 is a little furether away than I would prefer but with the compromise in this case was worth it for me. Cheers
  4. Actually was just looking for a November trip, I can never understand why Thai is so expensive, comparitively they are only average Sydney - Bangkok Singapore Airlines $920 Qantas $1099 British Airways $1099 Cathay pacific $1247 Thai $1473 They have to be joking don't they, of those 5 airlines (I've been on all of them) Thai is the worst, Singapore and Cathay the best.
  5. Mike, thanks, have sent you a PM with a plan, hope it works out, cheers.........Greg
  6. DP, buy the toys at home and bring them with you, you won't find them easily (if at all) in Thailand.
  7. Anyone on this flight from Sydney wanting to share a ride to Pattaya, let me know, arrives BKK 10:55pm.........cheers
  8. Is it actually a Taxi or a Hire Car, what kind of car is it? thanks
  9. Depending on how much the airline appreciates your business they will block seats for you. I would say you need to be in their top teir of frequent travellers but if they can they will get on the phone at the Check-in counter and get the other 2 seats blocked........ I have never asked about 4 but generally use my miles to travel "Hilly" Class so don't get to test the theory often. I have not tried this with US based airlines, but Qantas, Singapore, Cathay Pacific are up for it. Cheers
  10. Anyone thinking about giving these guys a whirl if you come via Singapore. Should save and hour or so on the road. Also interested in anyones comments about U-Tapo airport, getting taxi or limo into Pattaya, need to book or are there generally a few laying around, how much is the going rate? The connections look good from Sydney on Singapore airlines, so I might give them a run next year, I hate the Bangkok - Pattaya car trip......... I see prices as cheap as S$59.00 on way. Cheers http://www.jetstarasia.com/index.php
  11. Callum, Right handed, I need some with extra magic thanks.........
  12. I guess the guy told you to pick up after nine shots as it was easy to remember without explaining why. Basically you can have 8 a 1 on a par 5, so there is no situation where 9 can score a point. But the above is right, once you can't score a point good etiquette is you should pick up.
  13. The "ambrose" or "scramble" is a great way to play a competitive Social event like this. I play in a social club and we use this format each Christmas and everyone enjoys it. Here the basic gist, we always played as a 2 person scramble cheers Definition: "Ambrose Competition" is another name for a scramble, but one in which a team handicap is used. All players tee off, the best shot is selected and all players hit again from that same spot. The best second shot is selected, and all players hit from that same spot, and so on until the ball is holed. If the scramble is called an "Ambrose,
  14. Callum, as we discussed the other night please count me in. Assume I can hire clubs on the course? Cheers
  15. The Haven is the food place next door right? It was open last night and every other night in the last 10 days I have been here. Cheers
  16. Zed, can they operate, that sounds like a real problem you got there !!
  17. The gist of the debate was even most the politicians thought it was a stupid idea, it would harm tourism, + a one sizee fits all law was not the answer. Basically they were told to go back and start again, so nothing likely to happen anytime soon in respect to mandated early closing...... if ever. Cheers
  18. Christo, I'll be there when you arrive, happy to help you orientate yourself, have a few beers and check out the nightlife. Let me know we can arrange to meet. Cheers
  19. Mike, hopefully I do to, I just haven't met her yet!! I actually meant the night of 23 Jan. Cheers
  20. Mike, will you still plan to go to FLB that evening, I'd be a happy join the prowl. Cheers
  21. When I asked about membership in October they said it did not apply to suites. Cheers
  22. I assumed all the suites would be the same regardless of the floor. I stayed in one on the 8th last time and thought it was great. As I will get a suite on a lower floor this trip I'll let you know. Cheers
  23. OK, Sandy Spring have agreed for the lower price for the 10 nights in February, thanks SoCalGuy you just saved me 5,000 bhat. They will not give me the 8th floor as this is 2,500 and not available via Sandibar.com, or thats what they tell me. I have told them I am paying that rate for the 10 nights in January and would they please confirm a high floor. If they give me 5,6 or 7 I'll be very happy, if they give me a low floor I really won't be to upset. I'm sure there sick of me by now. Cheers
  24. I arrive that evening, but just for your info I think the 22nd is Chinese New year, so will be more crowded than usual and lots of activities, stalls etc.... I suspect. Cheers
  25. Actually I think thats very likely, I hadn't really thought to much about that as the website say they always ask for high floors good views etc..... Maybe I shoud just ask them to guarantee a high floor and I'll stop hassling them about the rate. They had troubles with their mail server so all my emails were bouncing back until this morning, I'll need to confirm high floor ocean view whatever happens. So far I have not contacted Sandibar.com, am still working with the hotel.
