  1. ONLY ON AIRBUSES 340-500/600 series as far as i know. in coach its on the floor under the seat, in business is tucked at the back of the main console.
  2. yes there is power in coach on the airbus340-500 and 600 series but im not sure but could be confind to window and aisle seat and not in the middle. I think premium economy is a business class seat (lieflat???) but with economy sservice. I flew last week akl-bkk in business and on exit premium economy was completly empty.i wonder if they bumped 1 or 2 pax that paid up to business.

  7. well this poster on another forum had goodluck with western union I have a girl that I stayed in contact with after my 2nd trip to AC. I've always been suspicious of the girls (thanks to the great advice here) asking for money. I've never sent money because I don't trust many of them. This particular girl almost had me. She's never asked for money until this week. She started off with the "I'm shy" line. Then she tells me her brother needs surgery to remove a cyst. She needed money to help pay for it. It wasn't much (6000 php), but I told her I would let her know. I called Western Union an
  8. not accoprding to stickman, all essentials will be moved in 3 hours The long-delayed Suvaranbhumi Airport, only 90 minutes from Pattaya, is now scheduled to initiate operations September 25, 2006 (tee hee) but pundits predict the start date will be early 2007. Hans-Joachim Klohs, representing the firm that will oversee the overnight transition from Don Muang to Suvaranbhumi Airport, says the move will be made on a single night starting at 3:00 AM, so there will be a very small window of time in which to transport all the essential equipment at a time that will least disrupt air and ground op
  9. FATBOYFAT I drive a cab here and our company has the contract to drive Air NZ pilots to and fro Wellington Airport. The pilots tell me with delivery of new long range planes air NZ might recommence BKK through Singapore. Im flying AKL-BKK-Manila round trip award biz class return in two weeks on Thai. AKL-BKK now has lie flat seats in biz.
  10. Down this part of the world TG is highly considered after Singapore cos to get to Asia we only have a few carriers from NZ, Aust would have a few others Thai Singapore Malaysian Air NZ Qantas Malaysian Cathay Emerites No Eva, Qatar, Sandanavian, Luthansa etc etc Air NZ is soon to become one of the few airlines that truly goes around the world. They currently fly Auckland/Lax/London and Auckland/San Fran and Auckland HongKong but are about to commence Auckland/HK/London so they will fly around the world west-east but also east-west.
  11. never stayed there, but right in the heart of soi cowboy is pennyblack hotel for 1,000 baht per night fone is +6622606460
  12. yes you can. u could have ff accounts eg.thai and sq but you would have to nomimnate your airline at time of booking. i used to be on both nz and tg but still have enough miles (air dollars there) for almost 1 domestic flight. but now have tg at my travel agent as my nominated airline
  13. im gold on tg but when i fly with air new zealand or singapore airlines my miles are credited to my TG sccount provided i have supplied my tg number at time of booking. otherwise i have to send in later and get credited which is a pain.
  14. only problem with free tickets is you dont earn any points on current trip so personaly would prefer bis class upgrade. hope you make the correct discision that suits you.
  15. R u sure us airlines is a member. I was only aware United Airlines was the only US airline but i may be wrong.

  19. Its all booked guys but I got it all wrong. This birthday special wasnt an award upgrade but an all inclusive business class fare for points at half milage. Im flying Auckland-Bangkok-Manila return for 67500 thai FF miles, But it is costing me $NZD250 in taxes and additional money for travel insurance plus I have to book a Wellingon - Auckland domestic airfare. So the money I had sidelined for thkis trip can be used for the following trip. awesome stuff. On the negative side I don't earn any points, cant change the inbound legs and should i not be able to make the trip the points cant be
  20. Thanks Longy. I rang Thai in Auckland today and I can save my free return upgrade until next trip (has a 2 year life) and since my birthday is in June i can get a upgrade at half points if i take a flight one month either side of my birthday. Auckland-bkk-manila is normally 135k points to upgrade but for thai gold FF it will only cost me 62500 points if i take a trip between 27 may-27 july. and i think its awesome as i have 30k points expiring this november. I will get it organised tomorrow. lets see if TG is easier to do business with than NW. Will let you guys know.
  21. Im not a NW FF and never will be but have you considered USA to Singapore or KL just to see if 60k buys there. Just sent my request today for my free upgrade on TG in July but am now thinking of using it at xmas instead and cashing some miles in now as I have 30k points expiring in Nov/Dec. Does anybody know if you book for Dec/Jan on TG can you cash your expiring points in before you travel

  24. AVIATION / AIRPORT OPERATIONS Mystery over fate of Don Muang BOONSONG KOSITCHOTETHANA Pattaya _ Caretaker transport minister Pongsak Raktapongpaisal has relayed mixed messages over the future of Don Muang airport after the scheduled opening of Suvarnabhumi airport later this year. Mr Pongsak yesterday indicated that all air-transport activities, except chartered flights, at Don Muang would be moved to Suvarnabhumi, east of the capital. The statement contradicted his words on Saturday, when he said Don Muang would continue to cater for domestic and chartered flights, wh
  25. On one of my very first mongering trips from Auckland to HongKong, Cathay had over booked a newyears flight by about 30-35 people even though I had booked and paid six months prior. As compensation Cathay upgraded us all to business on tomorrows flight, gave us $600 cash compensation and for pax out of Auckland a further $200 overnight hotel allowance.
