  1. well, I should be there by 3:30pm so I hope there is something in the Metro area. I just can't believe that everything is full given how awful Europe is and the fact that Bangkok is dry again.
  2. Thanks, just got an email from Drunken Duck and they are full until the 2nd. Thanks anyway. I think I'll just have to look when I get there.
  3. Coming to Pattaya on spur of the moment and I was wondering how full the guesthouses seem to be now. I emailed a couple of my previous favorites, but I haven't heard anything back ( don't know if they are full or just slow getting back to me). Can anyone on the ground give me an idea of the difficulty of making a last minute reservation? Do most places seem fully booked now? Thanks in advance
  4. It's the principal unit of salary payment in Isaan.
  5. So, in other words, you broke the contract. What you were prepared to do is irrelevant. You signed a contract in good faith, then you saw fit to break it when it suited you. Did you even consider just following the contract in the first place???
  6. Well said, although I do enjoy the odd afternoon in Champagne, but even there it isn't what it used to be for eye candy.
  7. Bar owners, retirees, etc. being murdered in Angeles is nothing new. I lived there in the late 1990s to early 2000s and I knew (not friends but people I drank with) 6 foreigners who were murdered during that time. That's why I give Angeles a big pass.
  8. Suggest your take your Western morality, ideals and judgmental attitude and check them at the airport when you arrive. You can pick them up when you leave. You will have a much more pleasant experience here in the Kingdom.
  9. I only buy lady drinks in Pattaya for girls who take their panties off. If that makes me a "top bloke" then I won't argue with you.
  10. Strong VPN It's the best investment you can make when dealing with the Internet. Ask Martin, as I believe he uses it as well. I have used it in the ROK, PRC, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Burma, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and the UAE. You have the choice as to what country you want to traffic your connection through. Excellent customer service.
  11. Trash is the same wherever you are. Here in Udon, we have more than our share of farang trash. Fortunately for us here, I have heard there will soon be a round up of the trash... the sooner the better. Gangs have no place here in the Kingdom. You want to be part of a gang, go back to your own country. The problem is that the Thais generally don't distinguish between the "top blokes" and the rest of us. The sooner the feces is flushed out of this country, the better.
  12. Ha ha ha. The PRC is a communist country and the last time George W. Bush was there as president he was so subservient to Hu Jintao I thought he was going to give him a blowjob right in front of the cameras. It seems your high opinion of Russians, Mr. Pecker, stems from the fact that you weren't honest enough to fulfill your rental agreement. So because this Russian man didn't force you to live up to the contract which you, in good faith, signed, therefore Russians are wonderful people. You are a perfect fit for Pattaya. Let me guess, you are an American, a Republican tea-bagger and y
  13. I agree. TOT has surprisingly good customer service and actually seem to care. My service was down last week for a couple of hours and after they restored service, they called the next day just to make sure that I was happy. Better service than the US.
  14. Just stayed at Irish-Rovers over the New Year holiday---highly recommend it. Excellent staff, excellent location and absolutely no problems whatsoever.
