Try, I think it's called, Overseas Travel on Soi Prysanee (Soi Post Office). It's about opposite the regular PO and can collect mail for you. They also rent safe boxes. Another choice is Mail boxes, etc. in Big C shopping mall.

Sounds like 'typical' Thai quality construction as this place is only a couple of years old.

You'll find PLENTY of apartments for 5-10kB per month in the Soi Day Night Area, off South Pattaya Rd, which puts you close to everything.

Pattaya Beer Garden 1 June report.

I just ate their the other night and the food's good at reasonable prices with nice service. One recommendation: How about setting up some 'box fans' to circulate the air around...? I was sitting at one of the benches, nearest the water, and a breeze from a fan would have been great! -
I agree, generally, TGs are more demanding than Flips--but that's because they're relatively wealthier and have more 'customers' to choose from. If Pattaya's monger tourist population REALLY declined, I think you would see a SIGNIFICANT attitude change in the girls.

NO ONE, regardless of age/health, should move to Thailand: 1) A GUARANTEED income to at least cover your basic needs of food, housing, etc. 2) OPEN Jaws airplane ticket to leave whenever necessary 3) An 'escape plan' to go back to your home country and start over if things go badly.

BKK TO CRK (Bangko to Clark, Philippines)

I HOPE this comes to fruition. One reason I stopped going to Angeles City is the having to get there from Manila--which is pure HELL! -
You might consider 'Overseas Service' is almost directly across from the Pattaya Post Office on Soi Prysanee. They can handle mail and rent safe boxes of various sizes. Safe and reliable.

Asia Pattaya? Girlfriendly or not?
galt67 replied to John Norway's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Here's one GOOD thing about AP Hotel: A nice, cheap 9 hole golf course. With that said, it's definitely an older hotel that's out of the way--and filled with Russians during high season. -
You could try a WiFi USB amplifier which can, theoretically, pull signals 1KM away. That should allow you to sit on the beach and catch a signal from a nearby hotspot.

Check out the Blue Parrot, Soi Pattaya Land 2, for decent Mex food. And, personally, I AVOID Teq Reef. Bad service and food.

Sandy Spring is around 1200B/night and has FREE wi-fi til Sept 30.

A new, FREE, hot spot that found this morning is: McDonalds, The Avenue Shopping plaza on Second Rd, across Soi 13

No, I don't think showers are available anywhere including the airline 'private' clubs.

Northshore condo alternative?
galt67 replied to tobybangkok's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
If you're looking for a good location, check the condos at Markland, Beach Rd, Soi 1. The Pattaya Mail regularly has owners renting them in the classifieds. -
Anybody stayed at the Penthouse Hotel....
galt67 replied to FarangNut's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Dirty, older furnishings, and very POOR service but it's worth staying their once. It IS unique. -
As a long-time Pattaya resident told me years ago, I don't drive ANYTHING with two or four wheels in Pattaya. Good advice!

Sizzler buffett, Royal Garden Mall. For 150B, a nice mix of salad, soup, desert. The food's fresh, healthy, and filling. Need I say more?

I know some guys on 'fixed' incomes living in Pattaya for 40k/B a month--and this covers housing, food, etc. How about a thread on: What is the LEAST amount that you know someone lives on in Pattaya?

Try this link--scroll down and their are three Thai based insurers. http://home.earthlink.net/~galt1967/id22.html

I just saw an interview with the owner, an American, the other night on Pattaya TV news. Sounds like a REALLY nice place with large rooms, modern (42" flat plasmas), etc. He also stated they were having a 'special' of 13kB per month--not including electric. Be aware, though, it's a bit of hike to Beach Rd, Walking St, so on. Although he did say they had a 24-hr shuttle.
