  1. A woman who had been married three times walked into a bridal shop one day and told the sales clerk that she was looking for a wedding gown for her fourth wedding. "Of course, madam," replied the sales clerk, "exactly what type and color dress are you looking for?" The bride-to-be said, "A long frilly white dress with a veil." "Please don't take this the wrong way, madam, but such dresses are usually more fitting for the first time bride who is more innocent in the ways of life, if you get my meaning." "WELL!," replied the customer, a little peeved at the clerk's directness, "I can assure you that a white gown would be quite appropriate. Believe it or not, despite all my marriages, I remain as innocent as a first-time bride. You see, my first husband was so excited about our wedding; he died as we were checking into our honeymoon hotel. My second husband and I got into such a terrible fight in the limo on our way to our honeymoon hotel that we had that wedding annulled immediately and never spoke to each other again." "What about your third husband?" "That one was an Obama fanatic, said the woman, "and every night for four years, he just sat on the edge of the bed and told me how good it was going to be, but nothing ever happened.
  2. Quite some time back, I saw one advertised for sale. Whoever owned it was lowering the price nearly every month. What made it unusual was that it was on a Mercedes diesel powered chassis and was a four wheel drive with huge tires. It even had a diesel generator.
  3. From Opera; [bTS] (DNA-40762) The below site is listed as malicious. My antivirus doesn't see a problem nor does Chrome or Firefox. Opera Software (DNA-40762@bugs.opera.com) Add to contacts 7:31 AM Keep this message at the top of your inbox To: glalt@hotmail.com DNA-40762@bugs.opera.com Hi, Thanks for your bug report. The website will be blocked in Opera, and in any other browser where the user has installed the Yandex toolbar. You can see the Yandex report here: https://yandex.com/infected?url=www.pattayatalk.com Yandex have said the website is malicious because it appears to be infected by a malicious redirector virus (as stated by the owner of the website in their forum). The website owner needs to fix the website, and update all relevant software to prevent re-infection. Normally infections like this happen because the website is using outdated software, which has known security issues. Eg. the website uses Apache 2.2.26, but they should be using 2.2.29 or 2.4.12. The website uses IP.Board 3.4.6 for the forums, but it should be using 3.4.8. Little things like this may be exploited by attackers to put malware on the website. Once the website removes the malware, Yandex will re-scan the site and see that it has been fixed, and they will remove the block. The website owner can also talk to Yandex using the details here: http://help.yandex.com/search/?id=1111971 Thanks again for your report. Security Group Opera Software ASA
  4. I was in a baht bus on 2nd road and a homosexual and his boy toy got on. We probably only went a couple hundred meters when a motorcycle pulled close to the side of the baht bus. The passenger on the motorcycle reached out and grabbed the gold chain from the homosexual's neck. Lots of squealing from the boy toy and the guy but it was far too late.
  5. I sent a bug report to Opera saying that my anti-virus nor Chrome or Firefox see any problem. It remains to be seen if they pay any attention to it. It takes me an extra click to ignore the warning. Their warning could cause problems for the owners of some sites. This is the only site so far that shows the warning.
  6. I have downloaded and am testing the Opera web browser. When I want to open Pattaya Talk, I get a warning that this is a malicious site, I am strongly urged to NOT open it. Has anyone else had this problem? Chrome and Firefox do not give this warning.
  7. I went with the Panasonic. Maybe not a good idea but I listened to the salesman. He told me that the Panasonic models had the fewest warranty claims. It is now installed and I'm quite happy with it. Only two days so far. I like the automatic mode. The closer it gets to the set point temperature, the slower and quieter the fan runs. My wife is used to the 500 to 600 baht monthly electric bills. Those days are over. She'll probably hit me up for a little more household expense money. She is now taking a nap on the floor in my cool computer room.
  8. I went to the small True shop and duly registered my phone and number some time back. I have been getting messages that I must register my SIM. I called the True 1331 number and asked them to confirm that my card is registered. "Yes, It is registered". I am still getting those messages and recordings. I had to call about my Internet and asked them to check again. "Yes sir your card is registered". My next question is why am I still getting the recording and messages? The answer was "Sorry sir, our system is having problems". It's not a huge deal but it is irritating when I want to make a call and hear that recording.
  9. I think Daikin may have changed all the model numbers since they changed the refrigerant to R32. I have a quote of 24,900 Baht for a FTKC12NV2S. It's a 12,000 BTU. The Panasonic was higher priced at 28,900 Baht for 12,000 BTU. The SEER rating was much higher on the Panasonic, whatever that means.
  10. Yesterday I went shopping for a new air conditioner for my computer room. I'm more confused now than ever. I have read so may conflicting reviews on the Internet that I don't have any confidence in any of the reviews. I have pretty much decided on an inverter unit. The most efficient inverter unit at Home Pro was a 12,000 BTU Panasonic. Anyone have any experience with the inverter air conditioners? I went to a local shop that sells Daikin. The salesgirl there knew nothing and trying to have my wife translate my questions was about the same as talking to my beer bottle.
  11. The only question was, was the beer cold? Draft beer in a warm mug is not good. Added, when you pull the leg off the thigh and it is bloody, that's not very appetizing. I've been there and done that.
  12. Here's a simple to use link; http://www.xe.com/currency/thb-thai-baht
  13. While Wac is somewhat paranoid, I view the USA as being heading to the point of total implosion. The national debt of 18 trillion dollars can never be re-paid. China is the key. If the US dollar is ever replaced as the world reserve currency, the entire US economy will collapse. That's not likely to happen as long as China can use US dollars to purchase all their imports. They will continue to support the dollar as long as possible. This will continue as it is because the liberals already have more than half the votes necessary to continue the lunacy. Printing presses running 24/7 printing funny money will continue. I have no idea what the answer is. I think it is too late for rational people to solve the problems.
  14. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately nuclear weapons make conventional warfare obsolete. The latest and most high tech aircraft carrier with its support group could be taken out with one small but very powerful weapon. If some crazy decides to do that, the world as we know it would be changed forever. A VERY scary situation that we live with. I don't doubt for a minute that soon some terrorist nation will have nuclear capability. I don't have to remind you that North Korea already has nukes. People who have no problem killing innocent people with suicide bombers would not hesitate to use those weapons.
  15. The replacement mouse arrived Monday as promised. The computer is working fine and Dell has a new customer.
  16. Our guys flying the limited fuel fast movers complain about no one lighting up targets with the lasers. In this day of high tech drones, what is wrong with having small expendable drones doing the targeting? I rarely agree with Obama but I too am against having boots on the ground. The billions of dollars training and equipping the Iraqi army was a serious waste of money and effort. ISIS got many of their weapons from the "trained troops" running away and not even bothering to destroy the abandoned weapons. Someone missed the part of training that says to leave nothing behind that is usable to the enemy. The PC commanders have jailed some of our soldiers for doing their jobs.
  17. Some time back, Putin warned the world that Russia is a powerful nuclear power.
  18. The Russians have no one to blame except their fearless leader. Do you think they understand that fact.
  19. I have heard that Dell computer service is good even here in Thailand. I received my new computer from Lazada this week. All was well except the mouse was defective. I went online to Dell service and told them about the defective mouse. Today DHL emailed me and wanted to know when and where I wanted the new mouse delivered. Apparently they don't work on weekends so it will be delivered to my house on Monday. Fast and impressive service for sure. I would have been happy to get the new mouse via Thai EMS.
  20. One of the women was in a motorized wheelchair. No doubt she is collecting Social Security disability and the wheelchair was paid for by the program. Both women look fat and healthy to me.
  21. The new computer arrived and I have spent the past two days getting it set up. I had forgotten what a pain in the ass that is. I will miss the party at the Apple bar tonight because I need to go to the land office tomorrow with my wife to sign off on any claim that I may have on some more land that she bought. She was buying two rai but ended up buying four rai. She is in hock to the bank again. This land is supposed to have water year round from a government irrigation project so it was extra expensive. It is a long way from a main road and it will never be on the electric grid. She thought 100,000 baht per rai was reasonable. I told her that I thought the price was insane. Who am I ?? You have to understand that my wife knows EVERYTHING!
  22. My home desktop computer is coming up on four years old. It sometimes does strange things and the front USB ports have stopped working. If they simply stopped working, that wouldn't be so bad but when using them for different things, they abruptly stop working resulting in lost data. I had been looking for an older second hand desktop for my condo. I am using a laptop now. I was looking at new desktops on Lazada. They do offer small discounts on some brands and models but not big discounts. I paid about 18,000 baht for the computer I have now. It still has good components such as an Intel i5 processor and 8 GB RAM. I found a Dell Precision T1700 MT E3-1225v3 / 2x4GB-nECC / 500GB. It was priced at 35,990 baht and now discounted to 25,900. It is basically a business model and since it has everything I need, including Windows 7 PRO, Dell keyboard and mouse. I went ahead and ordered it. It is certainly more than I need and was more than I wanted to spend. I decided that a person only lives once so why not splurge a little. I plan to take my old desktop to the condo. I already have a fairly new Samsung monitor that I use on the laptop. http://www.lazada.co.th/dell-precision-t1700-mt-e3-1225v3-2x4gb-necc-500gb-305020.html
  23. Owning a boat sounds better than it is. I had a go fast Donzi when I lived in Florida. I then went to a bigger Wellcraft that had a cabin and was much better for diving. Both of them were holes in the water that you had to keep throwing money in. No more boats for me, especially here in Thailand.
  24. Why would you want to captain a boat when you can find a captain to do the driving and leave you to devote all your time to the lady? Any old fishing boat with a private cabin would work. These Thai captains know all the private islands where you can swim and enjoy your self. Maybe do some hand line fishing and cook the little reef fish right on the boat. The ladies love that.
  25. The grounds there are very well kept and security is top shelf. The price sure beats those million baht shoe-box size units. Electricity is billed by the power company so no condo committee rip off prices. The maintenance of ten baht per square meter is likely the lowest you will find. The building design, open in the center eliminates any fire risk. I like the complex.
