  1. Find out how much he pays for the monthly maintenance fee. The complex charges 10 baht per square meter per month. My fee for my corner unit is 600 baht per month. If he pays 440 baht per month then it may be 44 square meters. If he pays 400 baht per month, then is must be a standard studio at 40 square meters.
  2. Now that you want to throw rocks, I view you as some sort of a used vehicle jockey and wouldn't trust you far enough to buy from you anyways. I am curious as to where you get all the vehicles you are peddling.
  3. I have no idea if the site is up to date or not. I was just curious what that 150 cc PCX retailed for and that's the site I found. I did buy my wife a new Honda Wave a couple of months ago and the price on the site was close to what we paid.

  5. Doesn't sound like a bargain to me. http://www.motorcycle.in.th/page.php/Honda_Motorcycle_Price_List Honda PCX 150i Front disc brake, alloy wheels, 150cc, PGM-FI (fuel injection) Price 69,800 Baht
  6. The instant coffee maker can froth the milk or Coffee Mate which looks good but is not a big thing. The main advantage is that it uses a pump and super hot water to dissolve the instant coffee. That is supposed to bring out the maximum flavor. Does it actually work? Maybe it is my imagination but the flavor does seem better. The Nescafe instant coffee maker won't be a total loss when I go back to ground coffee beans. My wife uses it to make her frothy hot chocolate.
  7. The Apple bar is my favorite Jomtien hang out. I have a condo in Baan Suan Lalana so it is also convenient for me. I am about ready for a trip to Jomtien so I hope to make the party.
  8. Back to the subject of coffee. Recently I bought a Nescafe instant coffee maker. It does the best it can do with instant coffee. Unfortunately I have had about all the instant coffee that I can stand. I ordered a hand held bean grinder with ceramic burr cutters and a kilo of French roast Doi Chang Thai coffee beans from Lazada. I hope that the extra effort making coffee will start my day a little better. What kind of coffee beans do you guys use and recommend?
  9. Here's a good link; http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g297390-d1717982-r152167012-Derleng_Tours-Siem_Reap_Siem_Reap_Province.html We had a great deal worked out because there were six of us. We would have had a van all to ourselves. We were not interested in a tour with a lot of strangers. We didn't get to try it because I got out voted. As it worked out, the hotel was great with the airport pickup and the hotel handling their own tours. A $2 tuk tuk ride from the hotel to Pub Street and shopping was convenient.
  10. We just got back from Siem Reap today. My wife and I went with two other couples. We considered doing a tour out of Bangkok. It sounded good but in the end we flew Air Asia from Don Muang. About a one hour flight. We stayed at the Saem Siemreap Hotel. They picked us up at the airport. It's a VERY good hotel and for about $50 a night, it's a great price. I booked the hotel through Agoda.

    Deflate gate

It's not rocket science to check air pressure in a football. If my wife can check the pressure in tires, I would think that highly educated officials can check the pressure in footballs. A tempest in a tea cup. I don't even like the Patriots.
  12. I was born and raised not far south of you near Van Wert. Cold in the winter, hot in the summer with swarms of mosquitoes. I'll just stay in Thailand.

It's up to the NFL to check the equipment. If NASCAR can check all the cars before a race, the NFL officials should be at least be able to check the balls.
  14. MM, This may be the answer to your problematic coffee maker; http://www.udonmap.com/udonthaniforum/coffee-machine-for-sale-t36626.html I have a dash cam that I bought from Lazada. A friend of mine had a look at it and asked me if I would order one for him. I did order the camera and normally things are delivered in three or four days. This time it has been more than a week and I was notified that the item had been delivered. If it was delivered, it was delivered to someone else. I never received it. Kerry Express has been good in the past but it appears that the driver is a lazy bastard and delivers to one or the other small gas stations near my house. The gas stations do not have the item and I don't know where it was delivered. I emailed Lazada and asked them where my order is at. I told them that I had NOT signed for the last three orders. I knew the service was too good to last. TIT !!
  15. When I have to give an email address for one reason or another, I use my Hotmail account. It has a feature that my normal Gmail doesn't have. I rarely get spam from Gmail because it is used only for people that I know. I always have some with Hotmail. I click the box and an option called "Block" comes up. Most spam or dangerous messages have titles to entice you to open them. Resist the temptation and block them.
  16. They both had a HUGE payday. I'd say that if there is a rematch, it won't come close to matching the money that this one generated. I would call those pitty pat jabs from Mayweather defence rather than punches. Just little pushes to keep Manny away from him.
  17. Since Pacquiao spent the entire fight chasing Mayweather, I thought the judges did a horrible job scoring the fight. It should have been a LOT closer. I really thought that Pacquiao was ahead and should have won the fight. It was quite obvious that Mayweather wasn't willing to mix it up and go toe to toe. I don't care about the "ART" of boxing. I like to see some action and less dancing.
  18. I'm just glad that I didn't have to pay to see it. Just a typical Mayweather fight, flick the jab and run. Mayweather may be undefeated but he certainly is not an exciting fighter. Reminded me of the Klitchco fight. Jab, jab and run. Both fights sucked.
  19. In Kalida, Ohio there was a steak house called the Black Angus. He aged the steaks himself. You wouldn't want to walk into the aging room. They had to scrape mold off the beef before they cut it. That said, his steaks were excellent, as good as I have ever had. That resturant had been there for many years before the national chain came along and called the chain Black Angus. The chain actually sued the guy for using the name he had been using for many years. The owner of the original told the judge the story and he was allowed to keep the name as long as it stayed in the original location. Lawyers suck.
  20. Most western currencies have not gotten stronger. The baht has weakened. Good for Thailand and good for us.
  21. There are a lot of different theories as to what makes the best beef. Finished on grain seems to me, gives the best flavor but there are those who insist that grass fed is the best. Those who think that those fed on grass are great should really like Thai beef. Thai beef doesn't even make edible hamburgers without mixing some fatty pork sausage with it and even then it doesn't have much flavor. I was born and raised in Ohio. A farmer who lived near me always insisted that sunshine made the beef tough. His steers never left the barn and were finished out with corn. He had excellent beef. I doubt that the sun had anything to do with it and the fact that his beef was excellent had to do with them getting very little exercise. I bought some steaks in Pattaya that were supposedly raised by Aussies. I must say that they were quite good. The Pattaya butcher told me that the cattle were fed pineapple scraps from a nearby canning factory. I don't know if that is true or not. Maybe the Aussies didn't want to give any secrets away. Pigs are happy to eat pineapple scraps but I don't know about cattle. I do know that if a raw steak isn't marbled with some streaks of fat, it will have very little flavor and will likely be tough. As far as I am concerned, beef loin is a poorest cut of beef that there is. Even chuck steaks have much better flavor. Chuck steaks are the cheapest and come from beef front quarters. The best beef is aged for tenderness.
  22. T shirt, I saw a sweet young thing wearing one that said "if you can't feed em, don't breed em" I was impressed. After talking with her a bit, I was quite disappointed to learn that she had no idea what her shirt said or what it meant.
  23. The best steaks I have had in Thailand were from Neil's Steak house. You pick your own steak from a platter of raw steaks. You are charged by the gram. Expensive but very high quality US beef. Since I live upcountry, beef is no longer a part of my diet. I did buy some very expensive imported aged steaks in Udon Thani and several of them were spoiled. No refund or replacement. That guy, not surprisingly is no longer in business. It's now fish, chicken or pork. Actually what I miss the most is a good hamburger. McDonald's just doesn't cut it. I like my steak pink in the center, not dripping blood but not over done either. Salt and pepper only. If I have to use steak sauce, that means the steak is no good. I had a truck driver friend in the US. He would ask the waiter/waitress if their steaks were frozen or thawed. If frozen, he would order something else. If thawed he would tell them exactly how to cook his steak. He told them to drop the steak on a hot grill and as soon as it hit, to turn it over on another part of the hot grill. He warned them if his steak was warm in the center, he would send it back. THAT is a bloody steak.
  24. My jet lag used to be horrible, three days to recover here in Thailand. I finally mentioned it to my doctor. I was doing exactly the wrong thing by having a few strong drinks. It appears that my problem was dehydration. I was advised to forget the alcohol and drink a lot of water. That brings me to my United Airlines story. I bought a bottle of super expensive airport water. It was confiscated by security. I get to my seat and asked the old cow flight attendant for water. She brought me a tiny cup that contained a couple of swallows. After we were in the air, I asked her for a bottle of water. She told me that if I wanted a bottle, I should have bought one before boarding. That really pissed me off because that's what I had done. I told her so. She brought me another tiny cup. I finally told her to get used to the buzzer because I would be pressing the button often. She did finally bring me a small bottle rather than a liter bottle. That was my last United flight. That old cow should have been retired years ago.
  25. When I was still in tourist mode, I carried mt US bank ATM card and kept a credit card hidden in my luggage. Both these cards are rather expensive to use regarding fees but I paid those fees in exchange for peace of mind. It makes me too nervous to have a large amount of money in a hotel room, any hotel room.
