  1. I wonder if someone in the GAO has been promised a cushy job to vote in Boeings favor, the same way Druyun chose Boeing over Airbus. Druyun got a cushy job. In that instance her daughter was given a job (which she was eventually fired for incompetence). The son in law was given a job (but he was qualified as to the best of my knowledge is still employed with Boeing.) So in this instance I'm sure Boeing has greased some palms in GAO, like the above parties that got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Scally all the post means at worst the contract will go out for bidding again. It i
  2. The answer to that question can been found on Nat Geo.
  3. I agree, whats the difference of this idiot and the people that bought Boeing stock @ $90 per share? (Hub) I don't see Hub suing Boeing for losing his investment... It will be tossed out of court on lack of merit.
  4. I didn't know that Skytop rented out campers too? Hopefully, she didn't have to endure that...
  5. Sounds like sour grapes to me. You should have tried selling the KC767 to the government. Your arguments are just as bad as Boeing.
  6. Scally, You ever hear that song by AC-DC called "It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll?" Well it's a long way before the 787 ever gets off the ground....Maybe Weird Al can make a parody using AC-DC's music. Power up doesn't mean shit.. Hell when we use to power up the shuttle after a mod, that's when we found all the things that went wrong. Now how are them apples?
  7. He has been, hasn't he? I guess I was too, but Boeing didn't meet my predictions. Just like I feel they won't be test flying until early 2009, if at all.
  8. You know what this story sounds like? The story on how shit happens at work? Anybody remember this? THE PLAN In the beginning was the Plan. And then came the Assumptions. And the Assumptions were without form. And the Plan was without substance. And darkness was upon the face of the Workers. And they spoke among themselves saying, "It is a crock of shit, and it stinks." And the Workers went unto their Supervisors and said, "It is a pail of dung and, we can not live with the smell." And the Supervisors went unto their Managers, saying, "It is a container
  9. All of Scallys (Like Big D's) are assumptions. That's because they read and believe what's in the newspapers, instead of having contact with actual sources within the industry.
  10. The operative words yours "very good chance" HS "power on darn close" I wonder who he leaned that word from? Oh yeah Harry Stonecipher aka Mr. Ethical that couldn't keep his dick in his pants and basically got canned in a nice way. Scally haven't you learned yet? My source is from a guy who got laid off from Goodrich. Your's is from a newspaper article. And I wouldn't be surprised if Hamilton Sundstrand was the actual problem. Boeing has been good at cover ups, until the emails caught them in a lie. But their commercial customers don't have subpoena power like the US Governmen
  11. Naw, That would be like falling in love. I think they want to give him a rim job, get their money, and get the fuck out, ASAP.
  12. Update, my neighbor was laid off from Goodrich. Was told he wouldn't be called back till 3rd quarter 2009. Once again Boeing wants to blame it's suppliers when it's their problem to begin with.
  13. I say Boeing is losing it. I was watching Dogfights on the History Channel last night, and Boeing has proposed to modify the B-1B bombers to B-1R status. R stands for regional. The B-1B is great airplane, Rockwell fucked up by not using the same defense avionics as the B-52. That's why the B-1B got a bad rap. But to make this new plane basically a missile truck is just plain wrong, and a waste of taxpayer dollars. I'd rather see UCAVs developed than a rehashed version of the B-1B. JFTR, My neighbor works at a Boeing supplier here. He tells me they are slow as all hell at Goodrich. And that
  14. +1 And I'll be doing the same if MS ever buys Yahoo. Yahoo mail will become shit too.
  15. Remember they are Boeing. They cry more than the employees like me they laid off. Next week my neighbor and former coworker is getting the axe, because Boeing outsourced her job to Oklahoma. I posted my comments on their Tanker blog, and they refused to post them. They know very well I speak the truth. I think this needs to be sent to my elected officials too. Comment preview A former Boeing employee: Maybe Boeing should concentrate on getting it's "DREAMLINER" in the air, and stop squabbling about what is the best tanker. A few commercial airlines have replaced their 767 fleets w
  16. Probably never, they are too concerned about taking that Tanker contract from EADS / Northrop they lost through formal protest. They should worry about what is their first concern, and that's getting the 787 in the air.
  17. Maybe they'll offer them 767s, destined to be tankers from spare parts as compensation...
  18. That's so funny, I would expect it really to happen based on GW's past with verbage.
  19. Why? I knew the 777 was fly by wire. Wouldn't surprise me if the later versions 737, 747, 757 and 767 were built that way too. Now if you were to go on and say a crash in a Boeing was more survivable than a Airbus, the flamethrowers would be going full force. Pretty much every modern jet today is flown by computer on takeoff and landing. That's why they tell you to turn off your electronic devices.
  20. That sounds like an old Dennis the Menace Episode from the 60s were Uncle Ned went to Quigley's market and bought a jar of pickle relish for $.25. Mr. Quigley was offering a double a money the back guarantee if you didn't like it. Sure enough Uncle Ned didn't like it, got $.50 back, and bought 2 more jars, etc. etc etc... Boeing = Mr. Quigley's Market Virgin Atlantic = Uncle Ned Gotta love it...
  21. My Congreeional representative calls the virtual fence a "failure." Probably so because Boeing keeps worthless employees that buy Birthday cakes, instead of showing up for work. REP. CALVERT CALLS VIRTUAL FENCE A REAL FAILURE Congressional Testimony Reveals Virtual Fence a Flop WASHINGTON, DC. March 5, 2008 – Today Congressman Calvert (R-CA) voiced his frustration in response to testimony last week by Richard M. Stana of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) who told Congress that the first 28 mile stretch of virtual fence in Arizona is non-operable and over-budget.
  22. He sure did a good job didn't he? Big D, don't you mean "rely?" Whos the other consultants on this board besides you Mango and Scally? Oh I forgot Bigus Dicus. But he posts topics about politics.
  23. Hmmm that's gonna be over 2 years late.....And once again I predicted 2 quarter 2009 for a delivery, and once again, it looks like Boeing won't meet that according to Goldman Sachs. Stock price is taking a hit too, not to mention the double whammy of the economy being the shitz... The Boeing Company As of 4:11 PM ET on March 7, 2008 Last Prev.
