  2. Sounds like a good deal; http://www.pattayalivecam.com/monthlynewsletter.html Also some good hotel deals here too; http://www.pattayalivecam.com/gift/hotelregister1.html Maybe if they get some feedback it may end with some regular deals. Keep the forum involved if any of the deals work for you.
  3. Yes, there are bars on Walking Street that are open 24hrs... Be careful though, not all the girls are the 500 baht type. I've seen one or two cases of guys having the way to the beach pointed out to them when they mentioned such a figure. ;D
  4. mattelyo Did you make the manager an offer? He seemed quite eager to negotiate when I was there. For 1100 per day, I would have requested an upgrade to a studio, with no question of a price rise on April 1st.(A price rise in low season?) For a two week stay, in an Executive studio, I would offer to pay 14k, certainly no more than 15k. I'd be surprised if that wasn't accepted.
  5. Certainly possible, though I've taken my passport into an island immigration office five minutes before closing and had no problems at all. Was in and out in 10 mins, included the time they took to develop my photos. I donated 50 baht to the Immigration fund afterwards....
  6. 10 - 15 mins in the local Immigration office. Just take your passport. 500 baht for a 10 day extension, 100 - 150 baht for the passport photos they take. They'll give you two of the photos back. You'll have to leave the country and come back if you want to stay for a longer time.
  7. That's a currently running special offer with Thai Airways; It's £6 cheaper at http://www.airline-network.co.uk This fare is valid for departure dates between 22 April 2003 and 30 June 2003. This fare must be booked before 30 June 2003. You must return to the UK by 09 July 2003. Thai Airways Economy cabin isn't that exciting, considering it's the flag carrier. Good value at that price though.
  8. The gym in the Weekender Hotel is called SITPHOLEK INSTITUTE OF MUAY THAI. There is a seperate room with a ring and heavy bags. Here's the address:WEEKENDER HOTEL 2nd FL, 78/20 PATTAYA 2nd RD, NORTH PATTAYA, CHONBURI 20260, THAILAND.
  9. The daily prices offered to me were; 1100 Superior room 1500 Studio 1920 Exec studio Monthly: 24k 27k 28.5k respectively These were the prices before negotiation. It was indicated that they would accept an offer, especially if for an extended stay.
  10. I've taken a look. I looked at rooms with different views. Even though the views may not have been the most exciting, there was no disturbances, that I noticed ,from any building work. I am quite sure it's Girl friendly as I was asked where my girlfriend was and why I didn't have one. They are definitely open to negotiation on the prices. Here's their direct line; +6638 414760-7 email:sunshinevista@yahoo.com
  11. I have never heard anyone mention this before, though that is because most of you seem to grab a taxi to take you to Pattaya. I took the bus(Roong Reuang coach) from Ekkamai to Pattaya. Near the top of the bus ticket is printed; "Show this ticket at Flipper Lodge Hotel Pattaya Soi 8" 1 Mar - 15 Nov Discount 30% 16th Nov - 28 Feb Discount 20% Has anyone ever used these? If someone wants mine, drop me a line.
  12. Baht Bus is 10 baht in the Pattaya area. It sounds like you chartered the bus. To be expected if one is not familiar with the Baht Bus route and the relative location of one's hotel.
  13. I went to check out the Siam Sawadee.... As I entered the driveway, a BG well known to me was running out. She seemed surprised to see me. I'd never been to Soi Buakow before. We spoke for a while though she seemed keen get me away from the hotel. It turned out that there was a man who was quite fond of her and wanted to bed her. He went to her bar often in order to entice her. She was not interested. One day he came with a gold chain offering. Her friends at the bar convince her to go with him. So back they went to his room at the Sawadee. He wanted to get it on there and then, though she man
  14. You could try the Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartments in Soi 3 http://www.asiatravel.com/thailand/sunshine_apartment/ http://www.asiatravel.com/thailand/sunshin...ommodation.html Soft opening..... so rates are negotiable, especially for an extended stay. 16. Ask at www.centrepoint.com about their LAN speed. It's free.
  17. I flew with China Airlines some years ago. First aeroplane that I saw with the SkyMap. Good service, though a little cramped. I would consider flying on their Upper Class from London, if the price was right.
  18. There is a bus service that corresponds with the flight landing at U-Tapao. The cost is 150 baht. The ticket booth is just before you exit the airport. Don't worry, you won't miss it. You state your destination when you're on the bus. They'll drop you off there.
  19. Let me know how it goes, Doug. I did the Langkawi -Satun -Had Yai route after having an island holiday on Langkawi. I was lucky enough to meet a nice Swedish couple who had rented a jeep who gave me a lift from Satun to Had Yai.
  20. There are a few options available to you to save the long train trip to Bkk. www.airasia.com Head for Had Yai instead? Cheaper to get to. Fly to Alor Setar from KL for as little as £8, then take the much shortened bus or train ride to Hat Yai. Alternatively, fly to Langkawi for the same price. You can take a ferry to Satun, Thailand and then take a short bus ride from there.
  21. Sorry I took so long to reply OnMyWay. The others here seemed to have it covered..
  22. Not stayed there. North end of Chaweng Beach. Not sure about beach view. Met a honeymooning couple staying there and they seemed happy.
  23. LHR to Singapore on BA for £150 return. Was 10 years ago though.. My first ever holiday on my own...
