  1. Try not to get your Knickers in a twist, jacko. Take a look at the address on their website: http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/pro...propertyID=1549 Sheraton Pattaya Resort 437 Phra Tamnak Road · Pattaya 20150 · Thailand Stroll there? No thanks. :) Actually, to be fair, it's probably a nice enough walk during the daytime, with a bottle of cool water at hand. Once.
  2. It's not that close to the sea at all. It's on the Phra Tamnak Road. See more clearly here. No way would I recommend it to someone to attempt to walk from Walking Street at any time of the day. Unless you have a preference for rough and ready companions. :) To be fair, there are Songthaews stationed at that end of Walking Street, so it is a feasible option.
  3. 32 Sq. M Studio. Cooking Facilities ( only studios in Pattaya with this ) That claim certainly doesn't hold any water.
  4. 24 Sq. M. 2 bed apartment??!! Not much cat swinging capability. So are there any One Bedroom apartments?
  5. There don't appear to be any One Bedroom apartments....or are the descriptions inaccurate? Bass player eh?
  6. Why on earth would you try to get there from Walking Street anyway?
  7. Maybe you can indicate quite where we can book the Discovery Airpass online with a foreign credit card.
  8. Most importantly....you can only purchase the Discovery Airpass outside Thailand.
  9. Not sure where you get your information..... You have to purchase a minimum of three coupons. The Airpass coupons have a validity of two months. So, no planning 'over a year' as you put it.....unless changed their T&Cs recently.
  10. Download and install SpyBot Search & Destroy Accept the options for SD Helper and the Tea Timer. Update when requested and Immunize when advised. After installation, Immunize again. This will give you some protection against some of the nasties out there. If a nasty get as far as installation, the Tea Timer will alert you that it is trying to add an entry into your Registry. You can use Tea Timer to deny it entry. Quite a few useful tools included in the Advanced menu. The program is free to use, though you can make a donation if you're happy with it.
  11. There seems to be an inordinate amount of dickheads on this thread.
  12. Because he mentioned the free calls bundle: Virgin Virgin Media Virgin Media (Non Cable)
  13. Tel +66 (0) 3871 1345 Fax +66 (0) 3871 1346 Try sending a facsimile.
  14. I think there is quite some difference in the quality of the air on the beach and the air quality in Soi Bua Khao. That's ok. You stay there. One less person to make the beach more cramped and even more dirty.
  15. Exactly...each to their own. I prefer to stay near the beach than live in some dusty and polluted back road. A shocker eh? Living in a seaside town and wanting to live near the sea. Ma Maison is a minutes walk from the beach. Mind you, Soi 8 is around the same level of Soi Bua Khao. :)
  16. They are still there. It's not only their website that is not working. It's the whole Amari website.
  17. I wouldn't stay in the Soi Bua Khao area. It's just not attractive and in general, downmarket.
  18. Ma Maison 1180 baht. Standard rooms are small, but ok. Good if you like to spend time onthe beach/near the water. Lek Villa. Both good places to begin.
  19. Try to remember where you are...... A fair amount of those who frequent these boards are seriously lacking in social skills and/or any kind of decorum.
  20. The only time I turned up for a flight much more than an hour before departure was when I went to Israel. Missed the first flight. Turned up late again the second time. Barstewards let me on to the flight.
  21. Virgin is not a 'cellphone' company. Virgin Mobile is just part of their business. Don't assume he is connecting via a mobile service. Anyway, speeds of between 1 and 2Mb/s are expected via mobile broadband.
  22. 128kbps??? Are you joking? Is that ADSL or ISDN? Click on this link Entering the prerequisite details will give you all of the info on services available in your area and what speeds are achievable. In your case, your connection speed is the likely bottleneck.
  23. This is the SECOND blunder that you have made with this booking. Why the &^%$ didn'T you check in online??? You already knew this was possible. You could have done so before you left the house. That way you can just roll up one hour before the flight leaves. As I do. At least you've alerted others.
  24. Yes, those from Tesco and BigC are awful. I wouldn't take any of them off road. Prefer to have one without all that ridiculous 'suspension' plus knobbly tires slowing me down. If you just want cheap, forget about the suspension and check that the brakes are reliable and aren't flexing around in the wind. The rest is negotiable.
