  1. I think Gabor is correct. I was in Phuket at the quite expensive (for me) Millennium Hotel. They tried to charge me 1500 baht for my 'guest'. I argued that I had paid for 2 people in the room. They argued that I have an unregistered guest. I told them I would register her. They agreed that if I registered her it would be ok. So the next night I brought another girl and simply told them the first girl gone, register this one. No further argument and no fee charged. Still a pain though. The hotel tried to equate 'registering' with 'charging fee'. Two different things. Most h
  2. NZ it's called soccer. It's looking like if 'football' isn't the national game of choice then it's called soccer.
  3. Not only you yanks, us aussies also call it soccer. To confuse it even more, the term football means different things in each state. In Queensland and New South Wales if you say you are going to the football it means you are going to rugby league. In Victoria and some other states it means you are going to the aussie rules. Jeez, now I've confused myself, I'm off for a few ales and a lay down.
  4. I'm an Aussie and it pains me only slightly but have to doff my cap to those Kiwis, above and beyond so far and wish them well in trying to get through tonight. I must say from the aussies point of view (very one eyed). We lost the plot against the krauts and just couldn't come back from that flogging. A big thumbs up to the teams that went through. A big finger to some of the refs.
  5. I've got some land for sale but viewing it is only by appointment.....at low tide.
  6. It was the long haul flight from Gold Coast to KL. Can't really remember short haul. Go to site and type in 'entertainment' in the search box. http://www.airasia.com/au/en/myflights/ife.html
  7. I may be wrong but pretty sure you do have entertainment on air asia, you can pre pay or pay on flight. I just checked the website in case I was losing my marbles and yes they do have in flight entertainment. I did buy the pack with the blanket, it's more expensive than doing it online before the flight. When I say everyone was buying blankets I didn't mean it literally, used a bit of litterary licence, those that could get one did and those that did not were none too happy about freezing their cods off. No way am I bringing a blanket to or from thailand. Just wear jeans and a jumper ne
  8. I agree with most of the above. I have done the air asia KL/BKK. Good airline but I would recomment you pay the extra $40 on the Gold Coast to KL section to get the seat by the exit, well worth it. Don't pay the extra to get priority boarding, what's the point. Had no trouble with the seats or entertainment. But beware, it is a no frills airline, you will pay for absolutely everything. They turned the air con to freezing then charged everyone for a blanket. Brunei Airlines was good. I had a stopover in Brunei which was a good idea. No alcohol on the plane but they will let you d
  9. Let me clarify. 20k is a hell of a lot for a village girl. 20k is a hell of a lot for a city girl. If you want the best advice then it may be an idea to give all the facts otherwise we are only guessing and could steer you the wrong way. IMHO, which admittedly is worth very little, I would think you are being played. Tread carefully friend.
  10. I have to agree with Joekicker. 20k is a lot to a farm girl, maybe she has a man and is happy to sponge of you.
  11. I wouldn't have a clue. Here in Aus it is a prescription drug so there would be a hassle if they thought I was taking in too much. I'd say it would be the usual fine of a couple of hundred dollars. I think we are supposed to keep prescriptions with us for such things but if it isn't prescription in Thailand I can hardly do that. I would think it would depend on the customs officer as well, they are pretty red hot on too many cigarettes etc but that is a duty free issue. I don't think they worry too much about Viagra/Cialis etc unless you decide to bring in a suitcase full. But to be h
  12. Last time in Thailand I went to buy a bottle of Scotch duty free and was told we couldn't take duty free booze to Australia from Thailand. Had me fucked, never heard of that before. I agree Fondles, I'll be taking a shitload of Kamagra home next time. Personal use for a year of course.
  13. I think he paid $20 for them and selling for $40.
  14. I have previously posted a trip report and thank you to all for advice, and for not flaming, though I did expect to get a much harder time. Anyway, as a post script. I returned from Patts a few days before my mad mates and have since been told that one of them bought AUS$1000 worth of Kamagra to sell around home. He gets off the plain and is unsure of whether he has done anything illegal, but suspects he has. He collects his bags and girl from customs comes up and asks if he has anything to declare, he says no, she tells him he is good to go right through. Girl then goes to other m
  15. Beefos and Kleyshay, very sorry to hear of the predicament. Many many hotels to chose from so I'm sure it will work out. Kudos to both of you for alerting the BM's of this scam. I think I fancy emailing the tool and doing a few dodgy bookings. Keep him answering emails for a while. Thanks for the heads up guys.
  16. What shits me is that the airlines persist in asking passengers in the front rows board first. So on they go and talk a lifetime to put their crap in the overhead locker whilst the rest of the passengers wait unpatiently to get past. When will they realise that it would be better to board the passengers in the back rows first so everyone can get to their seats without waiting for these imbeciles. I will now get down off my soapbox.
  17. I have stayed at the Apex Hotel a few times. Cost 600 baht per night. Hotel is in good location on 2nd road. Air con, tv fridge, great spread for breakfast (not incl) I think about 110 baht.
  18. Please ask permission before you post a photo of me.
  19. Hi Burn, welcome to the forum. There was nothing wrong with your question. Not everyone was born with knowledge of all things great and small and to prove the point.......I don't have a clue.

    Muslims

Whilst us whities aren't exactly of pure heart I think the muslims are more noticeable simply because they take the high moral ground on everything. Those that take the high ground fall the furtherest. Now where is that bottle of friends I was enjoying.
