  1. I Stay at the Canterbury Tales because they are down to earth guys and a lot of regulars everyday and a great laugh especially from the big man himself, the rooms are a good price and large, clean, everything works and if anything arises Dave or the staff are quick to sort it. The food is good, the bookshop is a great idea, the location is good too and no hassle from bar girls as there is no bar. You always know its doing well by the fact that its always booked up well in advance.
  2. Yes I looked at this room its really a nice addition as are the other new ones.
  3. I had this sent to me before by Dave from Canterbury Tales, very useful.
  4. A biker goes to the doctor with hearing problems. "Can you describe the symptoms to me?" asked the doctor. "Yes. Homer is a fat yellow lazy bastard and Marge is a skinny bird with Big blue hair." --- Why is it when your wife becomes pregnant, all her female friends rub her tummy and say "congratulations" but none of them rub your dick and say "well done"? --- Honestly some folk will take offence at anything. I met a bloke with no legs this morning while at the bus stop and all I asked was "How are you getting on?" ---
  5. He did not post an opinion, he mentioned mixed reviews which to me means mixed reviews, seems it means something else to you.

  10. Contact Pattaya people radio there is a DJ there who is a pro, Dave Dee I think or one of them, they will know, they have a website.
  11. Canterbury Tales Bookshop has a good selection, they have an offer on now, Private Dancer, (395) money number one (450) & Damage done,(450) all new books apparently 300 baht each, in bracket prices are Asia books prices its on their website. The thing I like about Canterbury Books is when you have read it you can get 50% credit refund which Asia books etc do not offer which is great especially when you buy a book that is crap.
  12. You guys some of you anyway have been watching too many movies and listening to too many experts who profess to know all about how Thailand works.
  13. Everywhere floods when it rains like it can do, sometimes a few inches sometimes a foot or so, it is the tropics, it lasts an hour or 2 mostly less, when it stops you can move around, stop moaning about the rain for F*# sake, go back to England if you think its bad in Thailand
  14. How is Pattaya looking for bookings over xmas generally ??
  15. Will the plastic chairs be in the deal.
  16. The normal problems occur when you stay above a bar, the bar is trying anyway they can to get people in, they will keep them there all night if possible and noisy girls whooping and screaming and music blaring, they are often as drunk as the customers and dont care about the guests trying to sleep. I stayed one time on soi Metro and complained about this and was told to join in the fun. I know its party town and you got to let live but I would never stay above a bar.
  17. I do in the daytime, not night time as I have seen too many accidents, often farang too drunk, I stay at Canterbury Tales and hire one direct from them, good quality and service and run by an English guy with a hot wife.
  18. I know, I also book well in advance, I enjoy the daily craik in the Cafe and the books are my favourite pastime, I am booked in December and again will book my next trip just before Songkran water festival
